Ahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahah.

fecking hype train derailed by a 2nd tier 155'r with 10 days notice.

Conor McGregor is what ive said he was since day 1. He is hypemachine version whatever.

Sorry lads, I know a bunch of you have had your noses buried so far up his ass that the lump in his throat is your nose.

It wasn't even competitive.

Whatever you think of him, fair play to Conor for stepping up. Just a step too far though

Taking it to the ground was just the means to the end. McGregor was flat footed early in the 2nd. He was landing and cutting Diaz up but he wasn't noticeably hurting him or pushing him back. The moment the heavier man landed a couple of solid shots, it was there for him and obviously gonna happen. The commentary team were ignorant until the evidence was clear.

The needless fight has cost McGregor dearly.

Even in the first round I thought McGrgeor looked like a one-trick pony. His left hand is lethal and super-fast, but he´s really reckless and easy to hit. What a night for the UFC.

In fairness Connor was beating him up and getting little back for a round and a half.

He got way too confident though and thought Nate couldn't hurt him. He was out on his feet for a good 2 minutes after that first combo that rocked him.

 felt all night Nate would win.

Conor looked clumsy with all that extra weight on.

Nate was on a much natural weight, but no excuse. Conor lost his chance for going after Lawler by forcing his step to 170 so fast. He was prepared to 155, so moving up to 170 just to accommodate Nate was silly.

good to seeing Conor outboxed.

Glad Connor took it humbly. Soon as he got hit by somebody his own size he panicked.

Connor was looking for that Hollywood KO too often.

Nate is mainly a 155er. This was a lightweight fight where they just didn't bother cutting weight. 155 is a different beast man.

Delighted!

Fair play to McGregor staying and talking at the end there.

That's what Aldo should have done :(

Crazy night. I still hope Mcgregor can bounce back because he is a hell of an exciting fighter to watch. There is just something pleasing about reality checks such as this. Conor needs to go back to 145, ground himself again and work on his weaknesses. His boxing is still an absolute treat and will carry him a long way.

Feck off Rogan. After sucking him off in his podcast last week he is suddenly wise after the event. Exact same scenario as his Ronda debacle

That's what happens when you move up weight classes and your power advantage is suddenly gone. Like someone else mentioned, some of those shots could have wobbled or finished a smaller fighter, but Diaz landed some shots and put him in trouble instead.

Might turn out that he's not a standout fighter at higher weight classes.

Diaz have fought welterweight before, plus not long ago he went 5lbs overweight to a lightweight fight.

Yeah I edited my post to say mainly. The original idea was to find a 155 replacement. The weight decision just came as part of the negotiations as Diaz had been on the couch and couldn't cut in time.

Well it was competitive because Conor most likely won the first round. And it's not really hype as you say if he won the featherweight belt. He simply isn't strong enough for a higher weight class.

The height/reach difference is a big factor as well. Fighting at that weightclass was something he shouldn't have done.

Nate got the victory so he deserved it but saying it wasn't competitive is ridiculous. Conor beat him up in the first round and gassed in the second. It happens.

Yeah it's crazy to say it wasn't competitive. Mcgregor was chewing him up at first, but it just turns out the bigger guys can take a few of those shots and they hit you harder as well. Conor lost sight of that. The negative for Conor is that he is a natural 155er same as Nate and so it likely means he has to put himself through those skeletor cuts again down to 145 or risk just being a top 10 guy at 155.

What? Conor landed harder shots in the first, but the striking was close otherwise, + a take down for Nate. Conor won the round, but it was a very close round. Then he got absolutely exposed.

Not only did he get choked out in about 9 seconds on the ground, but he got SCHOOLED standing. Oh, and I don't even like Nate or Nick. Their fans are almost as delusional as Conors.

Connor took the first, think he thought he could take Diaz with the left's and uppercut's..as that all he was doing and when Diaz just took them, he had nothing else but to try and swing more. He gassed straight away in 2nd, wasn't accurate and got wobbled and then it was just desperate stuff from him to prolong the end.

He was careless, didnt protect himself enough and exhausted himself trying to take Nate out quickly. Not going to work against a guy whose not actually been KO'ed yet.

Conor got so wild and careless...it's like he thought Nate was a chump or something.

Nate - I'm not suprised motherfeckers

This.....if he would stop talking so much shit in the cage and took the fight more seriously I think he would of easily won...it seemed like he was getting whatever shots he wanted but just fecked around too much....that kind of shit was going to catch up to him sooner or later..

Despite his hype, Conor is incredibly one dimensional. He has no ground game at all which was exposed against both Mendes and Diaz. He needs to go back to 145 and face Edgar and or Aldo again before attempting to move anywhere.

Yeah, the power does't translate to 170. First round I thought to myself, ah, just another night as Nate looked sloppy. Then come the second round Conor starts throwing horrible, wild punches. I was shocked at his cardio, gassing against someone who doesn't gas in Nate Diaz means you're fecked.

His body can't support that extra muscle. He should never fight at 170 again.

So you admit that Conor won the first round and then claim that it wasn't even competitive; how does that work?

He really didn't get schooled standing either. He won the exchanges in the first and got caught in the second and couldn't recover.
