The MMA thread

So that's that then, we won't ever see Diaz fight in the octagon again because he smokes weed in his spare time. All this while others get a mere slap on the wrist for pissing hot.

The Nevada State athletic commission is a fecking joke.

im watching TUF latin america... 3rd episode is aired tonight.
Broken bones in the second episode! :D

ps. got to say, im surprised with Kelvin Gastelum. So far quite intelligent to pick his fihters and stuff.

ps2. there is one guy from Spain... I really cant imagine a spanish fighter. Its like a french or italian fighter... they dont exist!

finally came the turn for the Spaniard guy to fight... and he was so fecking afraid. He was talking with coach Kelvin about his confidence and how he feel scared and shit. When he knew he had to fight the Argentinian guy, he was even more scared.

the fight was awesome and i wont tell who won, but it was a really emotional episode. i was really happy with how it all ended. Uriah Hall is awesome by the way, wish him to be at the top soon.

In the next episode fights the chilean guy vs the peruvian guy.

the chilean guy trains in the same gym as my MMA mates who come watch the fights with me. And they told me he sucks lol. According to Gastellum he is BJJ master, so we will see.

in the other TUF, america vs europe, it was a easy victory for the real BJJ Wizard, ryan hall. That heel hook technique is exquisite.

ps. anyone pissed that they bring back the irish and Johnny nunez?

It was obvious Conor was gonna bring back the irish, even if he is clearly just a glorified brawler.

I was pissed with Nunez coming back... he lost to Ryan Hall in that first episode and showed nothing. (but he probably trains in one of the known guys gym)

Andres Quintana showed much more potential than him i though. Yeah he lost via KO to Thanh Le, but it was awesome fight.

anyway.... japan event this weekend!

I'm pretty sure anyone who gets KO'd can't be brought back due to medical suspension. The fact that the Nunes fella took no damage and would still be completely fresh probably played into it. Uriah Hall is fighting Mousasi next weekend, a huge step up. 90% chance he gets beaten but with his explosiveness and power he is always in with a punchers chance.

With the UFC having so many events this year and getting used to watching the card almost every Sunday, this slow period of 2 cards in 6 weeks seems to have lasted a lifetime. UFC 192 can't come any quicker. This Japan card is rather meh apart from the Mousasi - Hall fight and Barnett's return.

true that... forgot all those details. Still not happy with this new system. The fact that now one fighter will be eliminated because of his style, is pretty shitty. It will end up in controversy imo. Plus, unnecessary pressure for the fighters. Well... hopefully all end up ok.

As for JAPAN, I'll be rooting for Uriah. Im not that convinced Mousasi can take this that easily. Because of both styles, its a nice matchup.

It has written Mousasi victory by decision all over it, but i think Uriah has big chances of upsetting him. He is in the best shape of his life and seems to have found that mental strength to back up his skills. The fact he offered himself to fight Mousasi speaks volume of his confidence right now.

It can be a staring borefest as well lol. But nah... both guys need to win so i expect a active fight.

my prediction: Uriah Hall with the upset. Believe!

ps. hopefully the rest of the card is good fun as well.

Just watching TUF and McGregor going mad at his fighter (Sascha) for completely ignoring him during his fight.
It's hilarious to watch, he won the first round with his standup and just fell to his back for the following 2, it makes no sense and Conor has lost the rag. Even I'm getting angry watching this

Its clear the guy who won, is gonna be elimanted because of his shit style.

I mean, both fighters where absoulte crap. the fight was crap. None of those should be allowed anywhere inside an octagon never again. lol.

In the TUF latin america, just like my friends told me... the chilean guy was shit, and lost to the peruvian, el fuerte.

uriah hall looks huge in the training sessions of team gastellum

this weekend the fights are today or tomorrow?

Great to see Barnett back, really enjoyed that main event. Hopefully he's back fighting again sooner rather than later.

Massive win for Hall after getting dominated in the first round. Don't be surprised to see him comfortably lose his next fight now

It's kinda unfair to tar a whole group for few knuckleheads, or even a single one in this case, but I'm not suprised, no.

Bisping is out of UFC 193 with injury and Uriah Hall once again steps in on short notice to face Robert Whittaker. That's an intriguing fight on paper. Gotta love a fighter who stays active also. Uriah will be firmly in the top 10 if he follows up the Mousasi upset with a win here.

Jon Jones escapes with probation - could make an immediate comeback after the DC - Gustafsson fight.

http://www.mmafighting.com/2015/9/3...g-return-is-the-talk-of-the-light-heavyweight

that's brilliant news then.

DC must be really happy. :D

such a shame for Bisping, but yeah, Uriah is on fire and i want to see him fight every month if possible haha. Its gonna be an awesome fight for sure.

Damn, a blow for tomorrows card. Hendricks rushed to hospital after problems during his weight cut (kidney stone etc) and his fight with Woodley is off.

Anyway, my picks for tomorrow.

Cormier
Rashad
Magomedov (hope I'm wrong on this one and Jordan KO's him otherwise we're likely in for a three round decision)
Benavidez
Pena
Namajunas

Massive fight for both Pena and Namajunas. Crucial that they both get victories. A couple of wins and they're both legit contenders in the Straweight and Bantamweight divisions.

Shame about Hendricks - looking forward to seeing Rashad smash Bader and the main event. I think Alex has a chance here, he pretty much has to win since his career would be massively set back with 3 straight losses.

A very solid card top to bottom this one tonight. Even after losing the Woodley - Hendricks fight it still looks good on paper. FP prelims just starting now.

Pettis younger brother looks good but this kid next Sage Northcutt is supposed to be crazy good. lets hope so. Only 19 years old.

Trevino is no easy fight, but he came 5 pounds overweight. I hope Northcutt kicks the shit out of him.

Think they have a new star

The look the skills well spoken

Dana has probably just creamed himself

Sage Northcutt
UFC Fighter, Christian, Model, Actor, & World Kickboxing Champion; Labrada Athlete and Texas A&M Petroleum Engineering

i guess no one is perfect

man the lightweight division is way too crowded

this kid gonna have a crazy way up the ladder to become champion. How is possible James Vick is not even in the top 30? that guy is ridiculously good.

then Mc Gregor maybe... good times ahead.

Can't believe I'm going to be at the next UFC event

For non Irish it's really not a good card. It'll be great for us because there is 5 or 6 with Irish fighters

Got a bad feeling Poirier is going to put an early end to the Joe Duffy hype

Also hope the co main event will be a war between miocic and rothwell

Good stuff mate. Slightly jealous, it should be a top atmosphere. For a fight pass card it's actually a pretty good lineup in my opinion. Miocic - Rothwell is a big fight, and some of the others like Smolka - Holohan should be good.
