got third place in a Juan Mata lookalike contest
Ah damn, feel sorry for Condit.
Yeah, it is slow. It looks like they're waiting for a big mistake to occur. Maybe that's a bit too simplistic and lazy from me.Is it just me or is this fight weird? It looks more like sparring! So slow.
Ah damn, feel sorry for Condit.
I think they genuinely have so much adrenalin they rarely feel the punches, but know they have been hit pretty well. He's clearly somebody who relishes a good fight though, I guess that's entertainment to him.Felt really bad for Condit. Looked like it would have gone on to be a really good fight.
I don't understand how Lawler can keep smiling like that during the fight. He is a nutter. He just can't stop
Before anyone asks, I know that's Paaaapeee from Prison Break!
What do ya mean? That third judge fecked it up but you can get 10-10 rounds. The 5th round was never a draw though and the 2nd wasn't a 10-8.

Yea, but a round can also be a draw so it can be 10-10. That score card isn't bad because of a round scored 10-10, which is possible, it's terrible because the last round was never a draw and the second round was never a 10-8.At the beginning of every flipping show Goldberg says (basically) "Scoring based on a 10 point scoring system, the round winner getting 10 points, his opponent 9 or less based on effect grappling, striking, aggression and octagon control."
Is that not how it works?
- The 10-Point Must System will be the standard system of scoring a bout. Under the 10-Point Must Scoring System, 10 points must be awarded to the winner of the round and 9 points or less must be awarded to the loser, except for a rare even round, which is scored (10-10).
- The following objective scoring criteria shall be utilized by the judges when scoring a round:
- a round is to be scored as a 10-10 round when both contestants appear to be fighting evenly and neither contestant shows clear dominance in a round;
- a round is to be scored as a 10-9 round when a contestant wins by a close margin, landing the greater number of effective legal strikes, grappling and other maneuvers;
- a round is to be scored as a 10-8 round when a contestant overwhelmingly dominates by striking or grappling in a round.
- a round is to be scored as a 10-7 round when a contestant totally dominates by striking or grappling in a round.
Same here, real shame about Condit, hope he makes a speedy recovery. I'd give the beginning of the fight to woodley but Condit's ability to take a punch and to keep the fight at that pace would have brought Woodley in trouble in the later stages, you could see him slow down significantlu alreadyGutted for Condit, my favourite fighter in that division by far and probably the UFC as a whole.
Cracking main event, Lawler probably should have finished him in the 4th.. Might be being harsh on him there but Hendricks was out on his feet for a while. You could see Lawler wanted to stay calm and not tire himself out, but I think he could have mixed it up some more maybe when Hendricks was covering up. Some hard body kicks maybe.
Lawler was excellent though, hope he gets a rematch.
Did they change this rule? I've always thought it could only end up in a draw when there was a 10-8 round scored, which I found utterly ridiculous and hugely contradictory. Didn't know about 10-10 rounds, makes much more sense like this ofcourse.Yea, but a round can also be a draw so it can be 10-10.
