The MMA thread

Bloody hell, I worried he'd have snapped his neck after that weird front flip

Too easy for Gustafsson.

what happens next? fight for the title again or put him against, lets say, Cormier first?

Has to be a title fight. For me he won the fight against Jones, but fair dues it went against him but either way he deserved the rematch just based on that alone. Now he comes out and has a performance like that and a devastating knockout, no doubt what so ever he should be going straight into the next title fight against the winner of Glover/Jones.

Cormier/Davis while that's all going down.

Cool  This division is so much fun.

Next weekend we have a cracker!!

I watched it on Channel 5, god that presenter was awful. Gustaffson was very impressive!
Which presenter? I thought John Gooden an Dan Hardy did a good job of commentating though!

But if you mean the presenter on Ch5 that was sitting with Forrest Griffin, yea he was an idiot. He asked Griffin what "cornering a fighter" meant?! feck offfffff.

Yeah that idiot with Forrest Griffin. I can sense that Griffin just wanted to give that guy a bloody 10 minute ground and pound. He was worse than Adrian Chiles, and that takes some doing

The fights just keep coming!!!

Has Hendricks ever been knocked out? Also, gotta love a Diego Sanchez fight
Nope, he took some bombs from Koscheck if I remember correctly but he wasn't even really wobbled. I can't wait for the Condit fight, would love to see him win the belt eventually! Pity his wrestling is shit because he has everything else.

Yeah, if he wins his fight he'll surely be next in line for another title fight against the winner of Hendricks vs Lawler? Or is there someone else I'm overseeing?

Depends really, Hector Lombard just moved down to WW and already has one KO win. If he can also take out Jake Shields in similar fashion, Condit vs Lombard for next title shot would be good.

 Hector Lombard at welterweight? The guy makes Overroid look like a school girl. How did he cut weight? With a machete?

Also, I have Fight Pass (because I love MMA but I'm a terrible person for giving Dana any more money) and TUF Brazil is on it, the one Wanderlei and Chael are coaching. Anyway, watched the first episode and it has guest "coaches" who are just two random women who are famous in Brazil for beach volleyball or some shit. They literally spend their time talking about how violent everything is, I have no idea why or whose idea it was to put them there but it's just completely random and nonsensical.

 Yeah, I've seen it the other day. At one point it looked like the blonde one was almost going to cry or pass out. What a ridiculous idea to bring them in when they don't like fighting.

As for the fighters, the blond young dude looked sensational, i think he might win this whole thing.

Pretty strange really but not surprised.

Quite disappointed with the first episode considering all of the hype and build up but in fairness that's usually the norm for the opener as you have the fights to get into the house which basically takes up most of the episode. I'm mostly interested just the Sonnen/Silva feud, so little of that in the opener but expect much more in the upcoming episodes.

Scales knackered? I can't believe the fighter's don't know presicely what they weigh before stepping out for the official weigh-in.
feck knows, but it's a bit weird. It was this big obese fecker operating them, which hardly inspires you with confidence that he knows how scales work. Looks like he hasn't weighed himself in decades. He also shouted out 145...when it was a flyweight at 125.
