I love how you’re so thorough in every fight. I’m fecking struggling to recall the fight I just watched on YouTube.
I do know one thing though; actual fighting and there isn’t a thing like it. I’ve played football to a decent level and scrapped at a decent level and only fighting gets my dick hard. Anyway.. I digress…

I know styles make fights but he just made Hooker look completely clueless. Like really bad. That same man was close to beating Poirier. A title shot? Maybe not … Gaethje for me lad.
For me, Gaethje for title shot and Islam v Chandler. Then Islam should get a title shot of he gets past Chandler.

That sounds good actually. I’m not actually sold on Islam. Lightning doesn’t strike twice surely? Can’t have a fecking bloke who’s absolutely insane at lightweight and then only to have his fecking understudy to do the same. It’s not unlikely— it’s close to impossible. Logic just says; Islam will fail.

That may sound good but Gaethje literally just had a title shot and lost, and is actually ranked lower than Islam at the moment. Plus, why would Islam, who has won 9 fights in a row, fight Chandler, who has lost two straight fights ?
Against someone that’s literally unbeatable. Khabib, when he was active, was the best lightweight that ever walked. Certainly the best pound for pound at the time. Chael put it right, Justin didn’t have a night off and he didn’t come back to his best in his last fight.. Khabib just reached God mode. As naff as it sounds… he actually could have submitted Justin with a Kimura but he had the presence of mind to just go no “his parents are watching and I know Justin will never tap”. It takes talking to Conor or with Johnson to the next level.

Yeah but Chandler has lost two in a row (albeit close fights) and only has 3 UFC fights (one of which bizarrely being a title shot). He shouldn't get perpetually rewarded for losing, especially against a fighter who has won 9 straight UFC fights. Islam has been in the trenches and proven himself to where he is deserving of a title shot. At a minimum, he should be fighting Gaethje and not a guy who has two straight losses.
See I saw Islam v Chandler as a reward for Islam. It's a big name, someone with a following, ex champion (non UFC of course) and someone Islam should be able to beat.
But Islam v Gaethje is something I would be all over!
I'm a massive Islam fan but I just don't feel he deserves a title shot without beating one of Gaethje, Chandler, Dariush, Tony or Poirier.
Dariush is another i keep forgetting about. A lot of quality there that could do some damage at the top.

Gaethje is ranked 2, higher than Islam. Justin will get the next shot without doubt. Islam needs to beat somebody in the top 5. Let him fight Chandler or the loser of the title fight.
Its not really Islam's problem that the UFC have been slow rolling all this time. He's beaten everyone they've put before him and should be fighting for the title. Chandler had done feck all in the UFC and got a title fight, lost, now lost again, so shouldn't be rewarded by getting to fight someone who is deserving of a title shot right now. Let Chandler face a Dariush or someone in that category before he fights another top contender.

I know it's not his fault that people keep turning him down supposedly but that's the nature of the business... He needs some bigger names. Chandler did get a title shot off of beating only Hooker but he had been a champion in Bellator and also got lucky with timing. Khabib just retires, Gaethje just lost a title fight, Poirier just signed to fight McGregor and Tony was on a recent skid (and I think he just lost to Dariush). That left only Chandler and Chucky Olives. Chandler has no UFC credibility. He's simply a Bellator guy who has been spoonfed top fights by the UFC for marketing purposes just as Makachev has been slowrolled to avoid him overlapping with Khabib's reign. But again, you don't reward losing for a third consecutive time with Chandler. Let him actually prove himself in the UFC by beating someone other than Hooker before he qualified for a near the top fight again.
Mate I know you been watching UFC a long time, you're a regular here, which is why I'm surprised at some of what you are saying. When has meritocracy ever been a part of the Red Tomato Head's plans? Chandler is a big name from outside the UFC, talks a good game, exciting in the cage etc. He'll keep getting big fights. HE would be the reward for Islam not the other way round (as you keep putting it). Chandler just had one of the FOTY candidates, far more casuals will tune in for him than Islam.
Regardless of whether Chandler deserves big fights or not, it doesn't change the fact that Islam shouldn't get a title shot until he beats a top 5 guy.
Then give Islam a top 3 guy and not Chandler (who is ranked below him BTW). Dariush would be a good fight for him since he's actually been winning his recent fights.
