Gaming The Last of Us Part II (PS4)

This in February, Elden Ring is rumoured to be March, Cyberpunk in April.

Hook it to my veins.

Yeah but nothing really coming out this year. Not really sure about death stranding. 2017 and 2018 were brilliant years for gaming. This year has been meh. I guess Crash next week could change that a bit but it’s a remaster of a kart game.

Next year is gonna be a magnificent end to the PS4 era with such games.

I just skipped to the point where she discusses the release date. What an awful awful inteviewer. He talks more than her and interrupts her when she's actually about to reveal when it was released.
It's not really an interview, more like a chat between two lovers, considering the interviewer is actually Ashley Johnson's fiancée. I don't even think his question about the release is serious.

I'm sure it's even mentioned earlier in the interview that shes unable to divulge the release date.

God damn...

Is it sad that missing out on things like these are one of the few things that make me anxious over an untimely death?
I often have the thought that no matter when I die, there will be a host of exciting games coming up that I'll miss out on. It's my own version of struggling with mortality.

It’s worse for me when I’ve been anticipating them for a while and we finally get a firm date.

Cyberpunk alone makes me want to get bundled up in cotton and then bubble wrap.

Yeah, I have a mild stomach ache now and every now and then I'm wondering if this is the beginning of the end and I won't get to see Cyberpunk. It's terrifying.

I felt the same about the last season of Game of Thrones and that turned out to be so shit that it made me want to die before I saw it, so y'know, look at the positives of dying first.

That better be coated in a thick layer of sarcasm.

Nope I posted my opinions of the first game in the start of this thread, so not going to go through that again. Whilst Naughty Dog capture the story well, I think the gameplay is lacking and I hope they improve it for this one. Will I buy it? Yes because I practically buy every game regardless unless it’s like really shit. But am I looking forward to it like others are? Not really.

I was like that with Game of Thrones.

After how that ended, death would've been less disappointing.

Naughty Dog are the most overrated developers. Expect a lot more walking around and doing nothing. Then people calling it amazing story experience. I want amazing gaming experience.

Naughty Dogs best game in recent time was Uncharted 2. That had the most action and less walking around rubbish. Games are supposed to be fun not a soap opera.

It's a traversty if people call the The last of us one of the best video games. The gameplay was average. They couldn't even get the stealth right.

It's like describing telltale games which you press a few button as great games. Now I enjoy them, but they not great games. A great games first requirement should to have great gameplay. Story should be secondary. Does the last of us or uncharted have great gameplay? Average at best with crap AI at times.

Naughty Dog are kings of drumming up hype. They are everything that is wrong with the industry at the moment. Overrated pompous directors and little focus on gameplay innovation. Seems everyone wants to be Spielberg in the gaming industry rather than Miyamoto.

Do you think the Metal Gears are great games?

I assume Naughty Dog’s gameplay in general doesn’t wow you, then?

Just curious.

Edit: nvm, I see a less lazy soul than myself quoted your aforementioned post

Fair enough.

Didn’t like the last one. I just got bored and stopped playing it. The open world was just dull for me.

The first four I liked besides all the cutscenes and Kojima putting his name everywhere. For me they were great games especially the first one as basically it created a new genre of gaming and was revolutionary at the time.

Last of Us is in my all time top 5 best games I have ever played and I have played thousands of games. I enjoy watching anything related to it, recommend it to any friend and watch any streaming done for it. Some scenes of it I rewatch several times. Absolute masterpiece, one of the few games that I can give 10/10 as I hardly find anything wrong in it.

I can't remember a game that nailed the beginning and ending so well. I was in bits after the opening and I only knew a certain character for 5 minutes and the weight of that ending, feck.

I found the first one completely 'meh', couldn't get into it at all.

I didn't find it "meh" per se, but when I read things about it like "Best Survival Horror game in last 20 years", I find it really fecking overrated, people forgot what actual "Horror Survival" is if that is "the best in last 20 years", it was good, but god people are going overboard.

Media event announced for the 24th.

So Feb looking most likely release date.

State of play tomorrow and Sony have confirmed last of us will appearing.

Also should add that trailer contains significant spoilers so don’t watch if you wanna go in blind.
