A & B just get FAIL and he's available to pick P2.

Bit of a waste, you could argue - but the way things have been going, having someone luck out on him in P1 wasn’t entirely unrealistic. Well, the gamble obviously wouldn’t have succeeded in P2. I was thinking, actually, that if someone else had gone that route, the comments posted after P1 were very welcome (the idea being that Joga had secured him - if people actually believed that, you’d be golden with the gamble).

Yeah I wanted two players - Ronaldo and Beckenbauer. I knew Ronaldo wasn't realistic and many would put 40m bids for him (RedTiger, DavidG and Tuppet IMO all went for him) so I followed suit.

I could've probably put a bids for the other two top players (the full back and the sweeper) but knew Pnut probably would go 30m on the full back and you/harms would go for the sweeper, while Joga using the cheat card will see the Beckenbauer fest and go for the forward.

In other words it was a pass decision for me or to risk getting sheep'd. It was worth it as I had plenty of ideas for Beckenbauer if I lucked him out.

However, 7 players are standing on land mines so if you pick them up they will blow in your face. Some players won it more than once; which is why adding the year they won is necessary.

If you pick a player with a land mine under them; you will not be able to pick in P2 but will be sent straight to P3. These players will be BLOCKED. Blocked players will be disclosed and added to the block list.

BEWARE: as you might know, land mines do damage to the surrounding environment as well. SO for example..

Let's say someone picks Stan Müstefez and he blows up:

Leonaldo 1974 (BLOCKED/Collateral damage)
Stan Müstefez 1975 (BLOCKED/Blew up)
Robebio Plallit 1976 (BLOCKED/Collateral damage)

Managers who picked a player that ended up as collateral damage will pick in P2. If collateral damage affects a player that has already been picked/passed in previous R's/P's , we move on to the next year, in the above example: -73, -72 etc and/or -77, -78 etc. If you pick a player at either end (inception -> 2007) and they stand on a land mine; collateral will be two steps up/down.

Collateral damages are covered by insurance, so managers get their money back.

Those blowing up may face a lengthy court battle and their money is as good as gone in the meantime. Legal advice is available for 5M.

If mines are activated in P2 all those affected move to P3. If in P3 they get sheep.

Sheep will not be from this pool, obviously.

TL;DR: Pick a Ballon d'Or winner (1956-2007). Add which year they won it (if they won it more than once, pick one of the years) You might get fecked up. Let the mods worry about the rules.

I did notice that 2007, thought you guys are being nice, you know perfectly well I would have gone with 2008 if you had set your criteria differently, and you can guarantee a landmine to go off. ;)

Oh no I meant as in SkizAnnah case where they have bid 40m on a player that went a previous round. Do they lose their money or get to keep it?

No doubt that's the reason it was stopped when it was. I think collateral damage should carry on through and I'd pick 2007 just in the hope of getting him blocked :lol:
