The First Redcafe Sheep Draft

Well if he has done so then I think he has been overly helpful when he did not need to be, in some way there is not much difference between that and telling someone they are picking someone who has been picked by someone else as well. What's done is done but I don't see why I should be the only one who suffered due to rules being followed diligently.

Yes there is.

But everyone DID submit one in your case.

As has everyone here. There is nothing in the rules that say that an invalid pick counts as not submitted. Infact there is no need for saying that a player will be blocked if the pick is invalid, if that is the case. The current rules directly contradict what you are saying

Rules are the same for all 3 rounds though

- as soon as everyone submits their pick, the round is over.
- 24 hours is a fall back deadline before we pass anyone who has not submitted any pick at all

They're not the same. You can change your pick in round 1 providing its before the last pick/24 hrs but you can't do that in round 2 and 3. Once you've sent your PM it's in.

You tried to change it in round 3 after you sent your PM.

I think its fair enough to allow a bit of leeway here, at the mods discretion. You were allowed it in that round if you'd got your pick resent in time.

Anyway lads, pick being invalid or not isn't the issue here. It is that all other have sent in the pick so no more changes could be made.

You are mistaken. I don't think that is how it is, otherwise Aldo would have never even posted that screenshot showing my pick being 2 minutes after Edgar's. What was the point of doing that if the change was not allowed anyway? Infact I have changed picks before in round 3 too

Chester and MJJ woudl really be scrapping the barrel now for right backs . May be Xavier would not be a sheep after all ;)

It's not a big deal anyway, two more attempts to correct it. It was way harsher to follow the rules strictly when Crappy missed it by 2 minutes in his 3rd attempt.

Oh and yes, finished my German team almost perfectly the way I wanted to.

Anto should never be allowed to run a draft!!

He's actually an excellent mod, much better than me without a doubt. He ran that all time one player per nation draft brilliantly.

I'd love to take part in a sheep draft he mods, he adds a lot of colour and drama to everything and this job is perfect for someone like that!

The nations draft was immense. I miss it ever so. Taught me a lot about footballers from days past and from other leagues I simply hadn't checked before.

We'll be about due another "Current players" one soon, last one of those outside of the youth draft was a few years ago.

Yeah, I'm really waiting for the reveal. I was thinking of a 60% chance of one of my players getting blocked!

I'm almost worried that no one has picked my 2nd pick in all of the previous rounds. I think he's a solid performer and better than plenty of others that have gone before him so will be interested to hear a bit of feedback after the reveal.

We need to do an auction based one. With hyper active players on here, a good one can be done. I think they can be even more fun than sheep

That would be fun. Imagine the muppetry. Cal would blow his whole budget on landing Cristiano

Yes . That's a classic auction tactic. If you know someone will buy a layer no matter what, take the risk and keep pushing the price up to get him to blow his entire budget on a single player

How do auction drafts work ?

I played a football game online once which had a computerized one.. generally know of two -

- Mod lists let's say 20-30 players a round, you just submit a single one time bid on a player, get your player if it is the highest if not try again in round 2

- other one which works like classic auction.. players go on sale one by one.. people can bid as they want

I did think about Amoros but the cover full-backs (who hadn't already been picked/blocked) weren't great.

Delighted to get my boys first-time though.

It is similar to this one, except just "picking" your player, you have to bid a certain amount out of the budget you are given.

It can be a blind auction or an open auction depending on the mod.

So you could go for less fancied players in the first couple of rounds low balling their "value" to save money for the later rounds ?
