Fun Fact: I got so wrapped up in FF9 that I'm now in work having not slept, due to not knowing what time it was until my alarm went this morning.

Zombieeeeeee.

That's great. Actually last year I missed a job interview because I wanted to finish that day a video game. Video games should be everyone's priority.

Oh yeah, Chocobo Hot and Cold is a good side quest and totally worthwhile
A bit boring because it is repetitive bur it has great reward. I am not sure if you can fight (and beat) Ozma without doing this quest.

Cool.

By the way, when can I get rid if that feather duster Vivi's waving around? Is it the next town after gydjekevdifiebekdifigvsj's grotto or whatever it's called?

Great stuff.

It's quite a disturbing game, what with everyone obsessing and touching a 16 year old Garnet. I've added two years to her in my head so it's more light hearted.

I'd doubt Ozma is possible without it, besides being in the Air Garden, I'd imagine you need all the gear from Hot & Cold.

IIRC, if you play the hell out of Hot & Cold you can be well OP gearwise early on.

If you lack all sanity you could grind to a Robe Of Lords.

I dunno if it'll be on the version you have but there was a glitch, since repaired, which let you upgrade Choco too soon, and reach some areas earlier than you should.

I hear ya on the grinding btw, playing Bravely Default, in chapter 4(of 6), my entire team are levelled to the mid 70's, and have a handful of jobs maxed each, along with some of the best gear(I'm currently working towards unlocking more).

EDIT:
I mean besides the Gold Choco bug, there was one for you to get the Blue Choco when you first leave Lindblum.

The frogs with Quina?

Totes done that, found him/her? by chance (and I visit everywhere I can and look in every nook an cranny). I'm not using a guide either. I'm doing this hardcore.

I caught all the frogs. Knowing my final fantasy I instantly face-palmed. How monumentous a cock up was it?

It can only be detrimental if you choose to use Quina as part of your team long term, which many people don't.

Thta's as far as I can remember anyway. The main reason I said go Qu's Marsh is because it's really handy having the 4th party member for the boss in the Grotto

Run out of chocographs. There are other places, right?

EDIT: Moving on, I want Garnet back, no healer ATM. :(
Yep, there are (another 3 if I am not mistaken). Go only for chocographs, it is a waste of time to try make 10000 points or so, you'll get other cool stuff on other places so I wouldn't recommend spending a hundred hours or so there.

Also, get Quina's level 5 death. I don't like her that much but the high dragon in this game can be killed instantly with it (it's level can be divided by 5) and is the best and the safest way to quickly level up. Reaching 90+ level isn't mandatory but if you want to fight the optional boss, you'll need to be there. Also, leveling up for an hour or two early in the game doesn't hurt.

And finally start catching frogs early. The lagoons (or whatever they are) takes some time to rehabitate. Leave always a male and a female (and in cases when there is a gold frog, leave it too) cause in this way it will get rehabitated much more faster.

Cheers man. I have to find an enemy with level 5 death now. Do you mean that dragon that beat the bejaysus out of me when I went up the rope in the grotto? I do want revenge now you mention it.

Yeah balls to Quina. 'Up' there with Cait Sith as least favourite so far, not looking optimistic either.
Quina is a shitty character, but everyone else is great - I think amarant is perhaps too pessimistic and moody but he's better than Quina who serves no real function, she/he isn't even funny for a start.

Yeah, I use the Cait Sith comparison with that in mind. FFVII was pretty much the same in that aspect, even Yuffie was a joy compared to that bastard cat.

I always dread meeting Quina, I remember one playthrough I skipped her completely the first time round and then eventually met up. She can only make up the numbers.

Quina was actually in my party the first time I played through. Mighty Guard and White Wind were very helpful later in the game. I also don't hate her/him as much as everyone else at all. I found it quite amusing

In my play throughs since, it has always been Zidane, Steiner Dagger then switch between Freya and Vivi. Mainly Freya though.

Just remembered the FMV at Cleyra

Pretty much the vast majority of the FMV's in FFIX are fantastic. Shame not many games use them nowadays.

The only thing that's annoying is that you can't skip them. It's all fun and games the first time but if you forget to save and have to go through a few again it's pretty grim.
I thought you could skip them, but I like them enough that seeing them multiple times won't bother me. I still don't get why they didn't incorporate voice acting, they would have had better experience with FFX (which is a fine game with talent) because there were a few instances (the laughing scene) where it was rather bad.

Yep. He gives an insane amunt of experience (12k if I am not mistaken, only some small sheep bastards give more but they are fecking brutal) so it is the best way to level up by killing them.

Well his first attack did 1,500 to everyone so I'll need to be able to keep him alive for enough time to attack. Yay, more grinding.

Is my love of these games a masochistic thing?
