Just gotten to chapter 4 and would give it a 7/10 so far. I hope they kill Vanille off before the end. And Hope.

Yeah what's up with always having annoying kids in the FF games... Those damn Japs eh?

I don't know why people find Vanille so annoying, she really doesn't bother me, then again i'm used to annoying JRPG characters and she's one of the mildest.

Try dealing with Lymle and Sarah from Star Ocean: TLH or Maro from Blue Dragon.

Just started chapter 9 and it's pretty cool. Loving Sazh by the way, he's a quality character.

Vanille just laughs, at everything. Or makes stupid noises.

Fought Shiva for the second time and I'm still unable to beat her. The first time I did nothing but attack which turned out to be rubbish. I've now realised I need to be more defensive and use the sentinel paradigm. The battle is still tough however, think I just need to get the timing right between switching paradigms.

Yeah Vanille is over the top happy and perky, but she's no different from Rikku from X just with an Aussie accent.

Then again i'm used to JRPG characters making weird noises, hell every one since the implementation of voice acting has the majority of characters grunt or sigh a lot.

All hail the annoying kids from Infinite Undiscovery.

You get very little mate, i wish i hadn't bothered with it now. You get a soundtrack cd with 9 tracks, two decals with the l'cie mark and three cards with images of the eidolons.

This pleases me.

Really enjoying this upto now, only just at the Lake Bresha place.

I'm up to chapter 7, can any explain why:

Everyone paniced with the discovery of the Anima fal'Cie and decided to purge anyone with a connection to it, yet they have no problem using others like Eden and Phoenix? I don't get it, I feel like I've missed something.

Okay here's an attempt.

The two worlds have two different types of fal'cie. The ones they use are Cocoon fal'cie and are basically their gods, the one they found was a Pulse fal'cie and after the war, and specifically the incident at Euroda they are determined to erase any trace of Pulse from Cocoon.

Thanks, that makes more sense.

I'm still waiting for some puzzles, up to now it's just follow a path, fight things, activate something with X - cut scene - rinse/repeat.

Seems to be that way for a while.

Although the story and Crystarium keep it interesting.

They gave WKC a 5 also. EDGE is just typical totally inconsistent reviews with no name on them EDGE. At least they gave GOW III an 8, GOW II got a 7.

What is WKC?

I agreed with their God of War reviews. I find they generally seem to tie in with my thoughts on games and hence why I read it. Of course there are demos for most major titles and other sources too so a bad review off them doesn't necessarily put me off.

I'm at chapter 6 now. I really hate not being unable to pick my team and the first levels were just boring design wise. Doesn't feel like a FF game but it's still a good game. Gonna buy WKC at the end of the month.

A bit off topic, as we were talking about EDGE. but I just stumbled across this.

God of War 3: 94 average, Edge 80 (-14)
Heavy Rain: 87 average, Edge 70 (-17)
Uncharted 2: 96 average, Edge 90 (-6)
Uncharted Drake's fortune: 88 average, Edge 80 (-8)
Killzone 2: 91 Average, Edge 70 (-21)
Ratchet ACIT: 87 Average, Edge 70 (-17)
Ratchet TOD: 89 Average, Edge 80 (-9)

MGS4: 94 Average, Edge 80 (-14)
GT5P: 80 average, Edge 70 (-10)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2: 83 average, Edge 70 (-13)
Motorstorm Page Ranking: 82 Average, Edge 70

Average: 14.3 points lower than Metacritic

And to prove they are not just harsh reviewers:

Halo ODST: 83 Average, Edge 90 (+7)
Halo 3: 94 Average, Edge 100 (+6)
Forza 3: 92 Average, Edge 90 (-2)
Forza 2: 90 Average, Edge 90 (0)

L4D2: 89 Average, Edge 90 (+ 1)
Ninja Gaiden 2: 81 Average, Edge 80(-1)

Average: 1.1 point higher than Metacritic

Of course, I don't pull anything over this, and Bayonetta isn't even included, but it's quite funny non the less.

I'd just like reviews like ZZAP and CRASH used to do them - 3 reviewers all named with their own comments, and an aggregated score, in fact, it's pushing me towards something I've been meaning to do for a while.

Your own video games review magazine/website?

I will write for you.

You can't really say that if you actually read the reviews.

As I've said, they must be the most inconsistent magazine that there ever was. Is Bayonetta really 30% a better game than GOW II? Really? They try to make themselves out as a fancy dan magazine (I have the very first issue of that magazine, and it was not always this way) with serious views, and spout garble as if they are art critics. In the end it's totally subjective, and it's made worse in that you never actually know who did the review. At least when you have a name, you can gauge that person's subjectivity over time to your own and develop an impression, but with the total anonymity of it, you haven't got a clue.

Just beat Odin, after the 4th attempt. This final fantasy is very tactically orientated, more than the others were anyways.
