I will never understand why people buy consoles in game bundles like that. Why would I want a PS3 themed after a game? I'll be playing loads of other games on it, too.

I rarely do unless it's a game series I'm a big fan of, i.e. MGS, FF or GT.

They're all different, but usually involve a story about a group of people brought together with a common aim usually to bring down some evil something or other.
I don't have a ps3, so seeing as i might get one with the main reason being for playing FF13 and if the price is similar to that of a normal console bundle then why not?
Just because it has a painted character of one game on it doesn't void it's ability to play, other games you know.

I know that, I meant that this is the one game that Sony have been relying on since the launch of PS3 to really boost sales. The fact they're doing better than expected already doesn't change it.

I know it is, but I don't agree with you on that. MGSIV and Killzone 2 were considered just as important as FFXIII for boosting sales.

Not in Japan. PS3 has been neck and neck with the Wii all year in Japan in terms of sales (Metal Gear has nothing on this, and Killzone?). If this finally doesn't place the PS3 into the PS2 bracket in terms of sales, there is nothing that will. The thing is still too expensive in any case, and the Japanese have moved to mobile gaming in the main. They do love their DSs.
Well, strangely enough, Sony seems to have accomplished what they want with PS3 - winning the format war.

So apparantly FFVIII came out on PSN yesterday in America? Won't be out here till next month. Bastards.
