The F1 Thread 2014 Season

If Ricciardo consistently proves to be better than Vettel then what will it prove? Ricciardo is just very good or just that vettel had too good a car, last 4 years(coupled with Ricciardo being good)?

Vettel is fuming now, lol! Couldn't stop laughing when they told him Ricciardo was faster and he replied "tough luck"

Vettel just proving on how big a cnut he is

I'm not Vettel's biggest fan but I have no problem with him not letting his team mate through. If a team mate is faster he should be able to pass without aid. The only problem I have is the double standards of Vettel because it was only a year ago that Vettel was complaining that Webber wouldn't get out of his way

Same here mate, although I do like Vettel. But what happened just now irritated me quite a lot. All those wins have definitely got to his head and now that he is losing we are seeing the other side of him.

Didn't hear Nico Rosberg properly, what was he complaining about his fuel for?
The fuel info isn't showing up on the pit wall screens for Mercedes so they were asking him to look at the gauge on the steering wheel and tell them how much fuel it says he has left but he's starting to get pissed off having to tell them

Oh. Makes sense I suppose. This is the first race I've seen in ages, raging how I missed so many last season.

Hamilton in a class of one today.

God those after race cool down room moments are awkward aren't they

Maldonado is so irritating!
Agreed. He's so feckin annoying. Dirty scumbag too.

So annoying to see him getting drives because of the tons of money he brings with him. He's not the only pay driver around and that's what teams need to survive, but some of those drivers are actually quite good. Delighted things are going so badly for Lotus. Hulkenberg really deserved a seat there for his ability, but he lucked out that they needed Maldonado's cash and he's got a far better car now with Force India.

So, basically oil money.

Worse, state owned Oil money. It's not like they will ever see sense and pull his backing, the day he leaves F1 is the day no team wants to take his money anymore which in todays age isn't happening anytime soon.

Mercedes are just too far ahead.

Glad I didn't get up early for the race and instead waited for the highlights.

Also I'm very impressed with Ricciardo, he's really giving Vettel a tough time and surely will get better.

Vettel coming across as a bitter twat. Last year I didn't mind his treatment of Webber quite so much as he was obviously so much quicker, but he's showing himself up to be a bit of a hypocrite. Shame as off the track he's probably the most interesting driver.

Webber had his chance in 2010 and choked, after that he was pretty much never the same again. You only have to look at his record from 2011-13, its really very average for a guy that had one of the two best cars in F1.

Don't forget the blown diffusers. Red Bull really mastered the art after 2010, and it suited Vettel's driving style perfectly, but Webber couldn't adapt. So Webber fell right off the pace whereas Vettel dominated. Now they're not able to use them anymore, and the cars are therefore much squirmier with less downforce, Vettel is struggling a huge amount, whereas Ricciardo suits the new car and regs fine.

One of the best documentaries I have seen; the editing, the music, the interviews and footage were all spectacular. May watch it again tonight now it's been mentioned.

Stunning film watched it quite a few times, This Thursday, 20 years to the day since Ayrton's fatal crash at Imola, McLean be releasing a special tribute to commemorate the life and career of a legend. Standby for more. ‪#‎RememberSenna‬

Hard to believe it was 20 years ago! Awful loss to the sport. It's worth remembering Roland Ratzenberger who died the same weekend.

I agree, he is always forgotten.
The day Senna died is one of those days that you always remember what you was doing, it was also the last F1 race I watched for about 12 years.

I was too young to remember watching him live. But from the footage I've seen he must've been up there as the most exciting driver of all time.

I still get hairs standing on my neck when I see the first couple of laps of the European GP of 1993 at Donington.
