why should the driver get a grid pen for a gearbox change, it is not the driver fault.
Set up.
Driver & the team are one. It's part of the regulations that gearboxes must last 5 races. Read up on your rules.
I know the rules ! I just think it is unfair on the driver, why not dock the team construction points?
There's no logic in that, a gear box failure isn't a team only issue. The driver is affected also. The current rules work fine.

Its a minor miracle and a testament to Alonso's abilities that he's lead the thing up till now. But he won't be able to win it by being defensive and "maximizing" till the end of the year. At some point he'll need to win a race to extend his lead.
