The F1 Thread 2010 Season

Harder to lead than it is to chase.

New McLaren front wing, interesting.

He could be running a full tank with others doing quali practice, means bugger all.

As for Sunday, I'll be watching the football; the night race looks impressive for a few laps then you remember the track is pretty shit. It's like a prettier Valencia GP.

Agreed yeah it might look spectacular but the race isn't really that good.

I'd hedge a bet that's a complete myth though

I reckon more often than not, the driver / sportsman / whatever leading going into the final few events of their profession ends up winning the day in the end

It certainly has its distinct pressures, but I prefer the saying about already having points in the bag than games in hand

Since when?

The Red Bulls & McLaren were lapping at the same time with full tanks towards the end of the second practice.

Maybe I let my pessimistic side take over. The trouble I think for McLaren is just like it has been before, the race pace is there and they could fight for the win but the single lap pace is just abit off and with a few races left its not something they can afford.

From what I noticed the McLaren's were bang on pace with the Red Bull's in the 53's and then the Red Bull's dropped their times whilst the McLaren's did not, ofcourse we have no idea of fuel levels. Button seemed down about Red Bull's pace but Hamilton and Whitmarsh seemed ok with it so I guess its wait and see.

Wow they really have fecked turn 10 up, it was always bad but it's insane now. Expect an incident or two there tomorrow.

Vettel for pole here I reckon.

I can't disagree with Vettel for pole, he has to get it together from now really

Hopefully the McLarens aren't miles away from the Red Bulls, as otherwise they're in trouble for the rest of the season

dont think he did , did a lap to get to Q2.
But still thought he would be closer to the lead than 1.7secs

He will be closer but the Mclarens have got no chance of beating the Red Bull's and Alonso in quali today, they are gonna have to fight Kubica for 4th and 5th.

I expect the Red Bulls and probably Alonso to be quicker in Q3, but it's looking like a huge leap forward by McLaren since Hungary
