The F1 Thread 2010 Season

Actually, it does. You see there's this thing they compete for. Its called the World drivers championship. When a driver gets that much of an advantage while the driver right behind him cops a massive penalty and gets put well down the field, then its does have an impact on him as that driver that cheated, will gain a massive point advantage.

 He very marginally got done for a technical infringement which was more to do with the unfortune of timing with the safety car coming out; regardless he got punished for it... and Alonso is still bleating?!?!

Give it a rest eh

What to do watch the build up to the England game now on BBC1 or this but the race does finish before kick off at 3. I think I will watch the F1

Every GP without fail we can expect some diatribe from you. Give yourself and your keyboard weekend off.

Lewis closing nicely here, should be a nail-biting end to the race.

Come on Lewis.

The tyres are still too good, Kobayashi shouldn't be able to go this long on one set of tyres. That's the difference between no fuel stops now, and the last time we had that situation

There's no point watching the rest of this race now, it's all gunna be decided afterwards anyway

Too true, and I think its pretty clear they will get a time penalty therefore what we see at the end wont be the finishing order. They have plently of time and resources to make these decision in-race.

What I dont get is why, with 12 laps or so remaining when they make the announcement, not to mention the incident itself was ages ago, why not deal with it during the race with drive through pens?

Why would they get 25 sec penalties ?

Stopped watching after Lewis' penalty as the top 2 weren't going to be close enough to race for the finish.

Too fast under the SC trying to get in the pits, usually when they pop up the investigation message its +25 seconds to their race time.

Or have the penalty apply to the next race

You're right, when the cars pass the chequered flag, unless there's an issue with say illegal parts of incorrect weight of the car / whatever, the result should be the order in which the cars finish. Otherwise the race and spectacle begins to lose its integrity

Speeding behind the SC ?

I thought the only rules were that they shouldn't overtake the SC or any other driver while behind the SC - it pretty much makes it impossible to speed behind the SC.

Its not when they are behind it, its when its deployed and the cars are miles from it as soon as the SC light comes out.
