The F1 Thread 2010 Season

We really can, this is stupid, there's no reason for it to be out here. Smacks of a decision to try and keep the race interesting

Alonso as ever doing his bit for team relations in the pit lane I see...

I was being sarcastic it's stupid.

And yea I think Massa may have uttered a few choice words at that one!

It's gunna make for a more exciting end to the race, but it really was a farcical decision, I thought we were past all that bollocks now. If I'm Button I'm going spare after that

Hamilton is a monster...

Watching Lewis drive takes me back to the good old days of F1, love this kid, he's fearless, a proper race driver.

Christ I've just noticed we're only just over half distance, so much going on it feels like there should be 5 laps left or something!

Yea that was nice between him and Rosberg, good driving from them both.

Another round of stops coming soon surely.

Button driving very solid here and barring anything unusual should have the race sown up.

Apart from Alguersauri going backwards, all seems to have settled down with ten laps to go. Button looks good for the victory, Kubica vs Vettel is the most likely change on the track before the end

Nah he'll get a grid spot penalty next race for that, and rightly so, he didn't really gain from it here, so it'd be crazy to add time to his race today.

Lewis is likely to be docked points/time for the pitlane incident anyway. I doubt he will get away with another crazy antic after being warned in the last race.

Decision after the race, Brundle suggests it'd be a penalty for the next race if he gets anything. Feel a bit sorry for him, he did exit the same time as Vettel. He should have lifted off though and trailed out behind. Vettel is culpable for his driving though, his movement was arguably more dangerous to the safety of the pit lane engineers

This has been a good weekend so far for sport, two great football results and a brilliant race here, I'm off to the Wigan v Arsenal match later; is it too much to hope for?!

Get in!!! Well done Button, bit of sporting justice that after the farce safety car. And a brilliant drive from Hamilton, took the piss out of the rest of them today. Great stuff!

An inspired tyre choice again from Button wins him the race, that was very enjoyable.

Ay that was one of the best races for a long time, the continual on off rain helps I guess, but there was a lot of wheel to wheel stuff going on. Bodes well for the rest of the season

It's great hearing them talking about the race like that before the podium, they have so much fun racing, and getting paid millions of pounds. The bastards.

2 wins for Button. None so far for Lewis. Has he done enough to be the No.1 driver in the team?

The new rules (no fuel stop) seems to favor someone steady like Button though.

Take strategy out of the equasion and Hamilton out drove Button today, it was the tyre choice that made the difference today. I said before the start of the season that Button's style would give him something this year and people were silly to right him off but I don't think either is really out classing the other so far.

Take the jump start (*** 25 secs drive through) and Alonso out drove everyone else as well but what matters most is the result.

The strategy for Button's wins have been down to his brave call and not the teams - so the driver deserves the credit. If it weren't for the safety car, Lewis and Alonso wouldn't have finished in the top 5.

Kudos to Michael, certainly showed his competitive edge is not lost. Great racing between he and Hamilton. Lacked rear grip in the dry so mixed with Water and it would have been hellish. He and Webber virtually on slicks at the end.
