The F1 Thread 2010 Season

I do see McLaren taking it to Red Bull this round but just coming up short. Thing is with the F-Duct judging by the speed trap figures it looks like McLaren are actually running more downforce than others but the F-Duct allows them to have favorable top speed, they are by no means way faster down the straights. If they manage to dial in some more base downforce into that car then they can start having even higher top speeds by the looks of it, trouble is the other teams are now adopting their own.

I've not read anything since the last race but last I saw the FIA had inspected the Red Bull and given it the all clear?

I don't know, I thought they'd be taking a good look at it here at China, all I know is that Horner has always insisted they don't have some kind of ride-height adjuster

Another one-two for Red Bull, four poles in a row now. I don't know what Hamilton was complaining about, his Q3 time was only a tenth of a second slower than his Q2 time and even at that he would have only swapped positions with Button

The Red Bull car is still ahead of the rest but atleast the gap is closing abit, bit of rain tomorrow expected which is a good thing on an otherwise quite boring track.

Thing is with Red Bull they are a team I ordinarily would feel happy for but I just can't bring myself to like Christian Horner.

A bit of rain is probably needed for a bit of excitement but not as much as last year, I think the first ten or so laps were behind the safety car. I can't stand the safety car starting a race

Agreed, ideal if it started dry and then they had to change to wet tyres at the right time and then it dries and they have to change back at the right time, that would be best

Interesting to hear Button say he thought his car was better setup for the wet, although if it's wet, you've got to think the Red Bull will be a bit more dominant, it seems to have the most downforce out there

Not a very good display by Schumacher, a long way behind Vettel, I do wonder if Rosberg is outperforming that car at times, as all you here from Haug/Brawn is that they are behind the Red Bull, Ferrari and McLarens

Last year, certainly towards the start of the season, we had plenty of overtaking. The difference was we had a more dominant team at the front then than we have now

This race descended into farce last year, rain would be nice but not quite that much again ta!

Really? I don't mind him actually, he seems to be a fairly honest and (for F1) down to earth kind of guy, he doesn't overtly favour either driver and he's always willing to sit and speak to the BBC blokes which I like.

Something about him I just don't like but then again there are alot of people in F1 I have said that about before to end up actually liking them. I think its fair to say that most team bosses are fairly open to talking to the beeb, we just see the top end ones abit more.

To change the subject, this is randomly funny

Man I miss Murray Walkers voice. I play Formula 1 '97 every now and then just to bring me back to the good old days!

The first two F1 games on the PS1 were brilliant, I mean considering the fact that they still stand the test of time even now is testament to how good they were back then. I used to do full length races even though I knew I would end up with blisters on my thumb from the constant holding down of X.

 I actually remember that, wow how strange little things like that come back to you after all this time!!!

Murray is a legend, hell why not...

"Anything can happen in Grand Prix racing and it usually does"

"Even in five years time, he will still be four years younger than Damon Hill"

"I can't believe what's happening visually, in front of my eyes"

"The lead car is unique, except for the one behind it which is identical."

And my personal favourite three:

"There's nothing wrong with the car except that it's on fire"

"There are seven winners of the Monaco Grand Prix on the starting line today, and four of them are Michael Schumacher"

"And now, excuse me while I interrupt myself"

:lol::lol::lol:

Yeah very good games, having Murray Walker on commentary was a big bonus for them. I had them on the PC, the gameplay really was brilliant. It took a lot of willpower to not go through all the shortcuts in Melbourne though

Murray Walker is a legend, I used to have a little book with all his quotes in it and that was always my favourite

He's always whining and moaning for me anyway I just don't like him.

Wow! Hamilton and Vettel in the pit lane... think Hamilton will be in trouble there unsafe release

Bizarre start to the race, started to rain, some have been in for two sets of tyres already after 6 laps!!!

Not sure about the release as they both seemed to be released at the same time rather than Vettel already being there and Hamilton being let into his path, split second stuff. However Hamilton missing the pit entry lines twice could well be penalised.

Yeh saw on the replay, both came out at the same time, Vettel just dropped it Rally style to get out ahead. Hamilton could have ceeded rather than driving semi alongside mind

I don't think he'll get in trouble for the pit land entry

Haha what a move from Hamilton!!! Two places gained in one move including Vettel who whalloped Sutil

that was very clever, from the replay you could see he obviously saw what Sutil and Vettel were going to do and he dropped back and left for a wide entry and breaze past the inside of them both, very good racing that.

Looking at the Hamilton - Vettel pit lane thing again, the latter was very very stupid, he was cutting the line off and pushing Hamilton into the mechanics!!! Dangerous, and I think they'll both be done for that, next race though apparently
