The F1 Thread 2010 Season

so if its dry for the race... do the fromt 10 have to start on their wets?

if does it only count if its a dry quali AND a dry start to the race

Yeh, I think it's if the weather is unchanged, I suspect it's only dry qualifying and dry race, as wet qualifying and wet race could still need either tyre

If it rains at any point before the lights go out the requirement to start on the same tyres as quali is removed, just like if it rains in the race the requirement to use both dry compounds is removed.

Not looked mate. That was a bit dodgy from Hamilton weaving around on the straight. Some brilliant driving from Petrov there.

missed the start of the race , how the hell did Button and Hamilon get up the field so quickly ?

Hamilton made 1 or 2 pretty nice moves but mostly just purely the difference in car speeds, the maccas are miles faster on the straights because of that 'totally legit' aero stall to the rear wing.

Yea if it started raining now the race would be placed in his lap all nicely wrapped but I don't think it's going to.

It's both great driving and car speed. The likes of Button, Massa and Alonso were stuck behind those slower cars. Alonso has some gearbox glitch though.

good job im watching this now, as its switching to BBC 2 in a minute and my Virgin box hasnt set it to record on BBC two

He made up 8 places within the first lap and Massa was right on his gearbox. Sorry but that's not great driving that's just driving past slower cars. He made a couple of nice overtakes like a said but the vast majority of it was the car, same for the Ferraris and Button.

Massa eventually gets past Button, now Alonso lining him up. Buttons tyres are fecked after his early pit stop.

Alonsos engine blows.

Last lap, gutting, running tops revs too long trying to get past Button.

And finally the 1-2 Red Bull deserves.

Good dry race that, nice to see Vettel take the win, he could have won all 3 if it wasn't for the reliability problems.

Brilliant drive by Hamilton, and to a lesser extent the Red Bulls. Not as challenging, but saw the job out.
Sutil also had a great drive.

This race highlighted one thing, Mark Webber is a number two driver and he knows it.

 spot the Hamilton fan.

Not really... In all honesty I was left unsure of him after last week, he seemed to have a real bad attitude. But this weekend he's been composed, and drove mistake free moving from 20th to 6th. Sorry if I think that makes him worthy of a comment about a good drive..

Did you not get the memo muller? Your not allowed to be a Hamilton fan.
