Was looking at a list of mass shootings in the US. There have been so many I genuinely don't even remember some of the recent ones. El Paso Walmart in 2019 and Lewiston in 2023 seem to have slipped my mind. Also Sutherland Springs church in 2017.
For some reason, do remember San Bernardino though. Those which remain vivid in my mind are Uvalde, Columbine and Sandy Hook.

Just found out the week that school is starting that we have to catalog every single book in our possession in our classrooms - including personally owned books on our bookshelves - and catalog every single link that we have in lesson plans. Then we have to send these catalogs to the state department.

That's mental. At our school the administration eventually gave up trying to get us to upload year plans in the staff Teams. If they tried something like what you're describing the unions would strike until they ran out of money, and then 90% of teachers would quit.

Couldn't agree more. Especially considering the children have no say (and the fact it's children being killed FFS) and I'd assume the majority of teachers aren't gun nuts.
All those students are innocents and most parents would be as well. They can't do anything about the state laws.
I know. They are absolutely innocent in this, I just wish their idiot politicians would actually do something.
I will also add, their parents are the ones voting for politicians that wear AR-15 pins on their ties in congress after school shootings. Maybe it's the parents I feel less sympathy for.

These poor kids. The only thing that scared me in high school was chemistry. These kids have a whole lot of other things to worry about.

I swear, much like MAGA, the gun worship is a cult. I finally got that after the horrific Sandy Hook shooting. They would rather see thousands of kids die than limit their right to own military style weapons. It's fecking sick.
All of the numbers except 2, that number is sacred.
The sheer amount of them is part of it. It’s become normalised and is now deeply entrenched into American culture. They have adapted and moved on. Those in charge have decided that it’s ok to have these children live in fear and not enough voters care to make a difference. They accept these deaths, like other countries accept that some people will die due to traffic.
