I regard you as an idiot Weaste when it comes to football, I don't think Davo knows much either, deciding who is an idiot is practically impossible for the mods.
It would soon become pretty clear....

In the current football forum 10 daft manc twats would wade in with "Alonso's shit", "50,000 posts on a Man Utd site..." and the like
You'd be able to have a long debate with Rubber Chef without him resorting to smilies
That's a point, no smilies on the decent forum...
Ignore the 10 daft twats and you've got it done. Only debate the ones worth debating.
Don't get caught up in it and drag your own threads wildly off topic into slugfests with the spastics.

I has been tried for over 6 months now surely?
It doesn't work! A 1-3 day ban works far better IMO as a slap on the wrist.
So what? Ignore them, I tend not to reply to Rubbers latest ramblings, you should be able to manage it also.
It happens in different guises non stop, it's not possible to ignore all the time. It's stopping decent posters from posting about football on a football forum....
This isn't good
It hasn't been implemented except on a very limited basis.
The idea was to get more serious when the football started back.
But once we did, we were confronted with wild stuck-pig style bitching from everyone, including some of the established posters advocating fixing the problem on the one hand and undermining attempts to do so on the other.
Matchday threads are always going to be crap. No ones got time to post anything of any length, it's always going to "FFS Brown", "1-0 Scholes", "feck off Bennett"
You basically ban any user that makes a stupid out of context comment. Gone, done, dusted, goodnight.
If you can't ignore it then you're contributing to the problem not helping it.
And how many decent users would we never get if they found out they had to basically go through 2 layers of promotions?
There's been no end of threads of late which are basically you and the Chef arguing absurd points, neither of you getting anywhere and both coming across as cretins...
What's the point in that?
If its so simple why is it as bad as it is?
Feck off, that's about ten more letters, and goes against my policy of being as lazy as humanly possible
I'm considering just calling you "s" from now on
There are 9 pages in the infraction thread, many are now denied posting rights in the United and matchday forums.
I'd like you to point them out, I haven't had a proper debate with the Chief since the summer
Given the infraction system seems set to stay though, would it not be beneficial to have a publically viewable area that shows who has been infracted how many times, and how long they will last? If people see justice being done (to put it far more grandly than it deserves), they are generally more satisfied, and perhaps are more willing to then continue to post themselves, knowing the cockend who's ruining the thread at the current time for them has at least been 'punished' before, and will be that bit closer to the dustbin this time around
You cannot debate with the Chief, you can only argue, aimlessly.
I don't always want to ignore pointing out spastic comments from idiots. This point has been raised several times, I'm not on about replacing one forum with another...
And again, go with the alternative suggestion of everyone being given access until they feck it up....solves the whole issue of "elitism", and whilst not my prefered option, a clear step forward that what's currently happening...
Correct, which is why I tend to ignore him unless to point out something that he's got factually wrong since he can't ignore that. You cannot debate with the Chief, you can only argue, aimlessly.
Who is how close to a banning is not the business of any other user, unless a mod feels that a public dressing down is also deserved.
The infraction system is designed to catch those who consistently annoy or disrupt without technically going quiiiite over the line.
The vast majority of the comments about it being a joke and a farce have come from people who have received one.
They also don't remember the 'bad old days' when you would simply be turfed, usually forever, suddenly and with little explanation sometimes.
Most people recognise it as a genuine attempt to take a step towards correcting the problems we seem to have.

Was there any need to use double spaced lines to make that point really?
The infraction system does not work and is highly open to abuse.
Whereas no-warning mass banning of "the cocks" isn't?
Does this mean that you preferred my direct slap in the face or whatever? At least you knew where you actually were at a particular time?
A PM can be used as a warning, so can a post in a thread. If you are then ignored, then it can start with a day out. If such behaviour continues, 5 days out, then a month, then gone.
I miss you as a mod more and more each passing day Weaste! I'm a silly young fool who didn't realise what he'd got til it'd gone. You sent me down to the newbies once, albeit for summat in the general, but thats the perfect system. They can re-earn their promotion. Better than being handed a nothingness infraction. I've got one to my name and it means bugger all. It won't even last til Christmas. A nice jolt is whats needed, not a wrist slap
Hairdryer posted a decent list of who to ban. Admins should've taken his advise and just banned the cnuts.
So you would rather have been banned for a week?
Because that is likely what Weaste would have done.
Weaste did it to me. I was in the newbies for a day. It was hell enough, lesson learnt. Not that I'd actually done anything to deserve it...
Look at it this way Jason, Brad and I never got on, but he is still here. It's not the best example, but he is a little better than he used to be after my harsh treatment towards him. Many people think I did what I did on a personal level, but that was never the case. I only ever did what I thought to be best for this website at any particular time. If I was wrong, and I hold my hands up that at times I was wrong or slightly too heavy, then everyone can and probably has judged me on that, but I only did what I though best, including my own deletion. Admin and moderators are only humans at the end of the day, but towing the party line all of the time is not necessarily that productive. The admin team know what I feel about them (and I love them all), but.....

Brad, would you like to hear the story involving Jason and Liz with a whip?
He'd have banned you the 'second' time, though.
Are you actually saying you'd prefer it?
You were pretty e-outraged at getting an infraction iirc.
You did say exactly that.
Please try to keep up with your own posts a little better.
