He only plays Stuttgart and Halle though. I doubt he’d risk going into Wimby with only one grass court tourney under his belt.
Anderson or Raonic or any other big server isn’t the problem when he’s having a good day. When he’s having a bad day, the current Fed can lose to just about any top 20 players.
How the feck did Goffin win a set against this crazy motherfecker? Nadal's dad probably had a few quid on Rafa losing a set during that match.
Rafa's level has dropped in the third sets of matches all through the tournament and Goffin really went up a level in that set. Besides, when fit, Goffin is an amazing player. How the feck did Goffin win a set against this crazy motherfecker? Nadal's dad probably had a few quid on Rafa losing a set during that match.
How is Thiem with the wind?Only way Nadal doesn’t win the tournament is Djokovic performing a miracle.
12th final for Nadal. 11-0 record, nobody has ever even taken him to 5 sets
With all this wind, Thiem has a big advantage in the semifinal too.
Comfortably behind? Rafa leads Federer on their H2H on all surfaces in Slams. Rafa and Djokovic also are very very even usually across surfaces. It really is bizarre how a player can be so dominant on one surface. I'd say Rafa is comfortably behind Federer and Djokovic on all other surfaces, but on clay he's just a different animal altogether.

I listened to the tennis podcast this morning and they said Federer doesn't like windy conditions, Djokovic hates these conditions and that Nadal is one of the best with dealing with windy conditions. No specific mention of Thiem though.
And Federer's ticket to his Grand Slam, arguably. That game could well have changed the GOAT debate.Nadals won 92 out of 94 matches at the French. Give props to Soderling because that looking back now has to be one of the greatest performance from a player.
Yeah - she's one of the hosts. I don't agree with her take about the scheduling today as since 2017 they have sold the men's SF tickets separately. Apart from today, I largely agree with some of her views about sexisim but that's another story for another day.The tennis podcast is ridiculous. Is it hosted by Catherine Whittaker? She really comes across as annoying and is the type to call anything sexist. Her twitter bio says feminist, so not surprised. Apparently French open organisers are sexist for the way they treated the women’s semi finialists by playing them on different courts. She doesn’t seem to grasp that the men’s matches are the ones people want to see. If Serena was in the semi final then yeah there’s argument for putting her on main court. It’s about star power rather than gender.
Also regarding the wind argument. It’s pretty obvious no tennis player enjoys playing in the wind. I don’t think Rafa enjoys it even though he adapted to it well. But go look at his match against Fognini at Monte Carlo and he wasn’t really enjoying it then.
Yeah considering the circumstances I thought the scheduling was fine today. Didn't know anyone was having problems with it. Seems pretty sensible. The organisers did the right thing for me. Women’s played at the same time so no real advantage going into the final tomorrow. I’m surprised people who don’t go to the matches always seem to get worked up on these debates about what court certain players should play etc.
Theim with the early break. I just can't decide who I'd prefer for the final here.
If the conditions are like this on Sunday I think Rafa would do far better vs Djokovic than vs Theim. Theim has been very very good in his last two matches. I honestly am not sure if he'll be any worse than Djokovic as an opponent.Clearly Thiem and Rafa would rather face Thiem than Djokovic. If Rafa is just slightly below par than Djokovic at his best could win. Where as against Thiem if he’s slightly below par, I’m not sure Thiems best is good enough to beat him.
Forget Goffin.
Nadals won 92 out of 94 matches at the French. Give props to Soderling because that looking back now has to be one of the greatest performance from a player.
Djokovic beat him in 2015, but Nadal was totally rubbish that year after coming back from injury. He was losing to any average player and even lost his record of never losing a slam match after being two sets up to Fognini of all people.
It's empty currently because they had to let out all the fans after the first match and then allow them back in. It'll take some time to fill up. Plus it's understandably not full because of the conditions. The stadium is so empty. I could have popped to Paris and watched Djoko play.

Rafa was feeling his knee that tournament and he also missed Wimbledon after the Soderling game.

Can't do that as it would be unfair. Can't stop it for Novak when the other three semi finalists just got on with it.Djokovic wants the supervisor to halt play and I think he's got a point. I know Federer and Nadal were professional and played without a fuss but these conditions today aren't meant to be playing tennis in.

I don't think there are any rules to have play stopped play due to wind. It's the same problem for both players and play will only get stopped it isn't safe for fans and or players, otherwise you just have to deal with it.Djokovic wants the supervisor to halt play and I think he's got a point. In terms of number of slams won they are.Comfortably behind? Rafa leads Federer on their H2H on all surfaces in Slams. Rafa and Djokovic also are very very even usually across surfaces.
Roger and Novak may be better but they're definitely not "comfortably ahead"

It's absolutely ruined two amazing matches. Federer Nadal and Djokovic Thiem are the sort of dream lineups you don't often get and this weather has destroyed bothThat break point
It's so stupid to play in these conditions
