Going fro 40-0 to 40-40 was errors, (somthing cracked on his horrible first serve at 40-0) from there it was Nadal. 5 straight points.
Nadal has been having to play those amazing shots to get out of jail but Federer has been the better player this set for me. Dominating points both off the BH and FH

Federers serve is better than 99% players Nadal will face. Nadals not going to break him constantly. Federer hasn’t played badly, but I expected this to be competitive and not like the 08 final.

Federer's level has been very poor so far in this set. So many awful errors. Just gifted the break away there.
This final set will be straightforward but I'm very happy with federer's peformance today. Those first two sets were tight as feck and the margins were very slim. Federer could have win either really, especially the second. Roll on Wimbledon from bus POV I guess.

Fed always needed like 10 BPs to finally capitalize against Nadal, and on clay Nadal will never give give him that many in a game, while he himself has his now frequent disastrous service games.

Nadal made the semis at Wimbledon and US open last year. Federer has been on course to play Nadal in the US open last few years but keeps getting knocked out which you expect Nadal to be getting knocked out. Same with the Aussie open this year.
Will be interesting grass season. Federer will probably keep it shorter this year. But if he gets a decent draw like avoiding someone like Anderson or Raonic then he could make another run to the final.

Anderson or Raonic or any other big server isn’t the problem when he’s having a good day. When he’s having a bad day, the current Fed can lose to just about any top 20 players.
