Thought Fed was a bit off today but certainly not poor. Coric just played the match of his life.
I think he let Coric in the match.
Was poor on serve throughout. Was surprised by Coric in a positive way. Last year he couldn’t break into the masters and even played some challengers so he’s definitely improving.
Federer would need to raise his level quite a bit tho if he wants to win the final. Especially on serve - he won’t get away being broken that many times by either Raonic or Delpo.
Coric had a good spell towards the end of the first/beginning of the second but wasn't great apart from that. Fed had a shocker but did well to change things up when staring down the barrel in the second set tbf. Hopefully he gets a good rest and drinks lots of fluids before tomorrow.
Del Potro vs Fed the final everyone wanted once Djokovic went out. So good to see it is happening and great to see Del Potro is getting that consistency back. If he carries on like this he could be in the top three by the end of the year.
What a match today. Coric played incredibly well, but the old man is one hell of a fighter. Couldn't get his beautiful attacking game going today, but his defence was awesome.

Fun fact: DelPo has never beaten Fed outside of indoor Hard and USO.
