Watching the Shapovalov - Cuevas match now. Quite an interesting dogfight.

Edit. Wound up a pretty weak 2nd set for Shapo.

Serena is ranked 651 now. Apparently if she wins this tournament she will be back in the 50s.

Djokovic 4-1 down in the third.

He looks terrible. Reminds me of Nadal from a few years ago. No power to his game. The serve and backhand are awful.

6-1 in the third wow.

That was a real bad loss. Losing 6-1 to a top 10 player. But this guys a qualifier.

Alexander Zverev bottles a lot. He was leading 5-2 in first set, lost 7-5. Then won 2nd 7-5. He was again leading 4-1 in 3rd and lost 6-4. Twice losing 5 games in a row from position of strength, that too against a not so great player is inexplicable.

Tennis badly needs Nadal return to fitness as the elite tier at the moment bar Federer is pretty wank.

Just imagine how crap it would be if Fed wasn't playing well over the past year. We'd probably have the likes of Cilic and Zverev as the main contenders.

It's not like Federer's been playing brilliant stuff this year either. Looked way too early for Djokovic to come back, got to wonder why he deviated from the initial plan of returning for Madrid. Hopefully he hasn't done any further damage.

Or Del Potro to start showing up. He was impressive last night. Hopefully he keeps the consistency going.

Well we will soon find out in the clay season as Fed is unlikely to feature, Murray isn’t close to returning and Djokovic is shot mentally. If Nadal as well doesn’t feature I’m considering to skip all those masters altogether. Not much worth watching without them.

Unfortunately he’s a sick note as well. If it weren’t for that wrist I bet he’d be mopping the floor with the current field.

The Federer Indian Summer has been a brilliant story but mens tennis is in a shocking state.

The likes of Zverev and Thiem are pretenders. A teenage Nadal, Djokovic or Murray would be taking the tour to pieces right now. Federer skips tournaments, Nadal isn't right, Djokovic looks busted and Murray is no guarantee of a proper return either. That Cilic (a solid top 10-15 player for much of his career) looks to be the most obvious source of a non-clay Slam is simply abysmal.

Tennis needs a proper teenage superstar desperately.

Chung has a decent chance here, the slow court will play into his baseline game.

Had an inkling this morning when I checked the score of the DelPo match that he’d drop that first set at 3-4 0-15. Should have put some money on it.

Young Chung did better than I thought he would against Fed. He's got a strong head game and doesn't quit. Unfortunately for him, he was up against the in form goat tonight.

Fed equals his best start to a season.

Chung was good in the first set and his confidence went when he didn’t win that. He needed that.

But hopefully still on for Fed vs Del Potro final.

The first game in the second set was decisive for him. He should've broke Fed but missed couple of BP's. Then immediately broken in the next game after a poor backhand and all was over for him.

He has a good game, but needs to grow mentally.

I think the end of the first set broke him mentally. Fed was hitting everything back that was thrown at him with minimal unforced errors. Eventually, that begins to break a player mentally, at which point their error rate starts to rise.

Quite a dogfight between Kohlschreiber and Del Potro. Thought the former might pull it off half way through the 2nd.

Has to work on his serve and FH side. Otherwise pretty good movement all round. He'll grow into it.

Will be a fun match between Federer and Delpo in the final, provided the latter making it through Raonic.

Kasatkina is going to be world number 1 in the next 2 years. wta is producing some excellent matches this year while this is the worst that ATP has been for 15 years

Whoever wins on the women's side has had a great run, Sharapova/Radwanska/Pliskova/Halep for Osaka and Stephens/Woz/Kerber/Venus for Dasha K. Obviously Venus, Sharapova and Radwanska aren't the scalps they once were but still very impressive. Think Kasatkina will take it but rooting for Osaka, there's something very likeable about her.

The women's game does seem to have a lot of good youngsters

He's done, Coric playing pretty well but Fed has been very poor. Will be nice to see Delpo or Raonic get their first M1000 title at least.

Fed had him but allowed Coric to rattle off 5 points in a row and hold. Needs another break chance.

High quality, entertaining match. This kid is definitely going places. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go deep into the slams.
