Semis I think. Paire in R4, who's not all that and then Anderson/Tsonga/Querrey in the QFs. All decent grass courters, but don't see them beating Murray unless in complete servebot mode. How far can the crowd carry a crocked Murray?
DimitrovSo who is Fed going to meet next, assuming he beats Mischa tmr?
Fancy that one tbh. He's been lacklustre after his run in Oz.Dimitrov
Played some brilliant tennis against Baghdatis the other day, had zero unforced errors til he was 5-2 up in the second.Fancy that one tbh. He's been lacklustre after his run in Oz.
He has. Not watched him so far here, but his results have been comfortable straight setters. Might give his match a watch tomorrow.Fancy that one tbh. He's been lacklustre after his run in Oz.
Muller game will be a tough one. It's tough to break guys like him.
Yeah usually I wouldn't worry about Muller but he's done well this season and with that serve, you never know. Every match now is going to be really difficult. He's had a very grass court season too. It will be the biggest test Nadal has faced this Wimbledon.
I fancy Nadal to beat Murray if both make it to the semi finals.
It wouldn't surprise me at all. At the start of the tournament I thought he had a good draw (apart from DelPo who went out early anyway). I don't see him beating Federer, but if Fed loses to Dimitrov or Raonic then, I'd back Novak to make the final.Anyone genuinely thinks that Novak Djokovic can win Wimbledon? So tempted to put a substantial bet on Novak to win it all @5 but everytime I bet on him as an outright winner, he loses. - Australian Open 2014, French Open 2015, US Open 2016, Australian Open 2017, French Open 2017, I often let my heart overrules my head when it comes to Novak as I'm a fan of him. I had like 2 grand on each, fecker has made me lose 10k over the past 3 years.
Gilles Muller, they play tomorrow. I reckon Nadal will make a deep run this time, he should make the semis and meet Murray if all goes according to the script. The Big 4 are all playing very well in this season's Wimbledon. When is Nadal's next game and who is he playing?
Match will be on Monday. All the R4 matches played on second Monday as is tradition that there's no play on middle SundayGilles Muller, they play tomorrow. Maybe wait til after today, he's been hard to judge so far due to poor opponents and that retirement in the first round. I can't see him going out before the semis regardless of his form though, and I'd probably have him as favourite to come out of the bottom half if he shows any kind of form today. But unlike you I think the winner comes from the top half.Anyone genuinely thinks that Novak Djokovic can win Wimbledon? Although he did won me quite a bit of money during his peak years in his individual matches from 2011 to 2015, and his French Open win in 2016 before he lost his magic, I lost more than I won on him though. I look at his draw and I'm thinking, surely he has to make it to the semis at least. Unfortunately, this version of Novak isn't the same anymore ever since he hired that fraud guru Pepe; who values life happiness more than winning so this affects his mental strength which used to be his greatest weapon on the court. I'm thinking of putting Federer @3 as a cover bet as I expect Djokovic and Federer to meet in the semis and the winner of that tie to win Wimbledon.
Well that's the thing, I can't see Federer losing to either Dimitrov or Raonic, he skipped the French Open in preparation for this season's Wimbledon so he sees Wimbledon as a mission so I'd have him as #1 favourites for the title and make it to the semis at least. I think its worth pointing out that after Federer, Djokovic has the second most Wimbledon wins and he has a very strong record on grass. Personally, I think the main issue with Novak is not about his physical ability, he has no notable weakness on any surface. I have no doubt about his physical ability, it's his personal issues which seems to have affected his performance on court. If he can sort that out, I'm sure he would be back to his best. However, I get the feeling that Wimbledon is a slam competition you must be at your absolute best to win it, I think this tournament could come a little too soon for Novak. Maybe he would win US Open. Honestly, I wish Federer isn't in the same half of the draw as Djokovic, betting on both means I'm sure to lose out on one. It would be great if I can have a similar situation like Germany vs Chile in the Confederations Cup Final. It wouldn't surprise me at all. Sorry mate, got the dates mixed up. They play on Monday. Cheers to Saviet for correcting me.Cheers man.
I wouldn't bet on it, but think they will both have a chance. Dimitrov has been good so far this tournament (no decent opponent though) and likes the grass. Raonic has been disappointing this year, but he beat Federer last year at Wimbledon, and with his serve, he can trouble anyone on his day.Well that's the thing, I can't see Federer losing to either Dimitrov or Raonic, he skipped the French Open in preparation for this season's Wimbledon so he sees Wimbledon as a mission so I'd have him as #1 favourites for the title and make it to the semis at least. Perhaps I should go for Nadal as a cover bet but I fancy Federer over him.
I think the final would be Nadal vs Federer/Djokovic.
I can't afford to wait though, if he wins, I'm pretty sure the odds would drop and considering my bet is 3k, even a slight drop in the odds would means losing out on quite a bit. I'm still not convinced by the 90s generation, they have been rather disappointing TBH. No one has really stepped up to take over the mantle from the Big 4 and as long as the Big 4 is still around, I can't see any of the young gen winning it. I think they lack the mental strength. You could be right though, it wouldn't be shocking to see Federer losing to eithe Dimitrov or Raonic but I think he should beat them as he seems to be back to his best and he's taken time off to prepare for this.I wouldn't bet on it, but think they will both have a chance. I have the same sentiment, but in a one off game, I think they're both capable of beating one of the top 4 in a slam. Dimitrov did it again Murray (albeit a few years ago) and Raonic did it last year against Federer. Both at Wimbledon. Problem for them, is I don't think they'd back it up against Djokovic.I'm still not convinced by the 90s generation, they have been rather disappointing TBH. How much did you win?Sela retires.
How much did you win?
Would the odds change? Maybe if Federer were to lose but otherwise I don't think him beating Gulbis would make a difference... Perhaps if he were to win 6-0 6-0 6-0 I guess. Think the safe money is on Nadal myself after Murray's showing last night.I can't afford to wait though, if he wins, I'm pretty sure the odds would drop and considering my bet is 3k, even a slight drop in the odds would means losing out on quite a bit. Could do as well if Thiem, Monfils or Berdych go out. Don't think they would beat him anyway, especially Monfils, but it would make his run even easier.Would the odds change?
