Second slam in a row where Tsonga has been a game away from being knocked out and play has had to finish the match off the following day. On both occasions now he's lose the game and subsequently the match
Lol I had 50 euro on Sam Querrey when the match was suspended as I got a feeling Tsonga will lose and he really did.
For his athleticism, I always thought he has under-achieved just like Monfils but it just goes to show how dominant the Big 4 is, because he should have at least a slam or two by now.

I'm thinking that as well but didn't really want to take the risk to be honest. You are probably right, Gulbis is ranked 589th, so the odds probably might not even drop but I didn't want to take the risk as Novak's odds has actually dropped from 6 to 5 since the start of the tournament. I regret not listening to you guys, I should have replaced Federer with Nadal, now come to think of it, Nadal would be a safer bet as I remember seeing a statistic that he always seem to play well in Wimbledon or makes it to the final of a Wimbledon everytime he wins the French Open, something like this.

Its too late though, I've put my stakes, decided to go for a lower stake as 3k on Novak seems too risky. Honestly, I'm already thinking of cashing out my bet for Federer and put it on Nadal instead. Don't mind losing the 60.
That's definitely not the case. He won RG in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and was knocked out in Wimbledon in R2, R1 and R4 respectively.

Why cash out on Federer though? He's still my favorite and the bookies favorite to win it.

What odds did you get for it?

I think that stats apply to years when he sweeps all the clay titles, as is the case this year.

OTOH, Federer has won Wimbledon in all the years he won AO, Indian Wells and Miami silumtaneously. Make of that what you will.

Because I can't see anyone stopping Nadal atm, his comeback has been a revelation and he's back to his brilliant best this year. He made it to the final of the Australian Open, which is supposed to be his weakest tournament yet it took Federer 5 games to beat him, dominated the French Open and when there's a minority who thought Stan could release his Stanimal and perhaps upset him in the final, he beat him 6-2, 6-3, 6-1. Its also worth pointing out that Wawrinka has never lost a slam final prior to this. So far, Nadal has also blitzed all his opponents so far in Wimbledon where he tend to get upset in the Round of 32 yet he easily disposes Khachanov who is a big hitter and a promising up-and-coming talent. Rafael Nadal reminds me of Hulk. The more times he wins, the stronger he gets and I could see him going on a Djokovic-esque 2011 year where he goes on a major match winning streak and it would take a herculean performance to stop him. Who can seriously stop him? Murray? No way. Federer is still his bitch at the end of the day, one win against him in the AO Final doesn't change the fact that he has a terrible H2H record, and unfortunately my man Djoker isn't the same player anymore, until he sorts out his personal issues and regain back his mental strength but like I mentioned earlier, Wimbledon could come too soon for him. I remember when Djoker first hired Becker in Dec 2013, he also lost the 2014 Australian Open Becker debuted as his coach.

If Nadal were to meet Federer, I think Nadal would beat him and it also helps that he is on the other half of the draw from Djokovic so it makes its a win-win final for me if they were both to meet in the final.

Well this is an encouraging sign.

Nadal is 0-3 against Federer this year, on hard court no less.

To think he is favourite against fed on grass is a bit of a stretch.

feck me sideway Gulbis is brilliant! His forehand. :eek:Can I take back my bets on Djokovic?! this could turn out to be a Querrey/Istomin moment, can see Djoker crashing out again.

4 Unforced Errors to give Djokovic the set. Classic Gulbis, the less talented Fognini of the north.

Monfils knocked out in 5 sets to Mannarino

Djokovic should really cruise to the semis.

Didn't see the first 9 games, but I find it really hard to judge Djokovic's form since he doesn't have to do all that much to win points at the moment. Match feels over already.

Yep, no danger men in his quarter.

A. Zverev dealing with business at the moment. Not sure it would be the most entertaining of matches, but he'd play Raonic next if he goes through. Must admit, I forgot these two should play in R4 and I'd probably back Zverev to beat him.

Really unexciting draw overall, much like the french.

Classic french  you can always count on them losing. Thanks Mannarino for the 65 euro!

You can always count on them winning...sometimes...Mannarino is French!

Plays Djokovic next though so I think your statement will repeat itself in spectacular fashion.

Djokovic is looking as good as I've seen him all year. (not difficult, admittedly)

If he's even just 75/80% of his best I think he wins this tournament.

Really depends on how well Federer and Nadal are playing going forward. Gulbi's isn't that big of a test, he never had the consistency to threaten Djokovic imo. As long as he keeps the ball in, Gulbis will miss eventually.

The roaring when he's cruising to an easy win against Gulbis is a bit weird.

This waving is getting rather old.

He will give Mannarino a right ol' shafting next round.

Already been broken more times this tournament than he was in his six matches en route to the final in 2015.

He's a bit off today, lacks focus and hasn't still got into the tournament IMO. Misha is playing well. He has a very unique style which disrupts your rhythm.

Anyhow 2-0 sets Federer.

I think he is always casual through the first few rounds here

Watching Willis in the doubles. Break up in the 5th to beat last year champions! Great atmosphere.

I'll take that.

Lots of work needed on first serve and the forehand though. Can't be having those many errors against better opponents.

Hopefully Djoko/Theim take out Federer because just incase Nadal makes the final, don't want to lose to Fed for a 4th time this year.
