Horrendous, hope it not acl but it's dislocated at best.Just saw the Mattek-Sands injury
I've only seen 1 other knee injury that bad and it was career ending.Horrendous, hope it not acl but it's dislocated at best.
Ya didn't look good, did my acl twice and hearing her scream in agony nearly brought tears to my eyes. Poor girl.I've only seen 1 other knee injury that bad and it was career ending.
Yeah Sands crying "help me" today sucked to hearIt reminded me of that Zouma injury, where he was lying on the floor and kept screaming in pain. Not a good sign.
I'm the same with my mcl and meniscus. It's like a twinge goes through my own knee when I watch someone else hurt theirsYa didn't look good, did my acl twice and hearing her scream in agony nearly brought tears to my eyes. Poor girl.

van Gaal in the crowd today.

I was shocked by the wait time as well. They definitely need to look at that and fix it. Even high school wrestling tournaments have a trainer on every mat.Never thought Wimbledon would be this careless with their athletes. It's inexcusable a tournament of such prestige and finance took 15 min for a medical crew to arrive at the court. Surely one medic should be present at every court in case of emergency?
Indeed. Had it been her heart and not her knee, we'd be talking about a death on the court.Dont wanna know what would happen if a tennis player with an unknown heart condition collapses at Wimbledon. Surely it would be a few minutes until a defibrillator arrives to the scene...
The response was a little slow but it definitely didn't take 15 minutes, the medics were with her a minute or two after it happened.Must be horrifying for her opponent as well. The girl went up close and was there helpless for 10-15 min as Sands begged her for help.

I was going by these comments. The response was a little slow but it definitely didn't take 15 minutes, the medics were with her a minute or two after it happened.
"I turned around and told them to bring a stretcher or something," Cirstea said. "I think everyone froze. No-one was having any reaction.
"She went into shock. It took a while until the medical team was there. I think for a long time it was me, her husband and my physio.
"I don't know for how long she was on the ground, but I would say 10, 15 minutes.
"There are sports where you see something's happening and you see the help straight away - like football, boxing, all the others.
"Here it took a while, so of course you wonder what would happen if it was a heart issue or something."
Cirstea was understandably pretty shook up about the whole thing, Wimbledon say the first response took a minute. The stretcher arrived about 10 minutes after it happened but they didn't take her off court for quite a while after that.I was going by these comments.
So it seems it wasnt the event's medics but Cirstea's physio, no?
Do you think it has something to do with the ground? I couldnt watch much so far but from what I've seen today weather seems overcast and Federer wasn't happy with the surface, he kept flattening them between serves. Lots of retirements so far as well.Cirstea was understandably pretty shook up about the whole thing, Wimbledon say the first response took a minute. No, there were two doctors there. First they had to give her a pain killer, then ease her onto the stretcher: a delicate job as you could inadvertently move something loose around.Ah jesus, the video of the injury isn't a good one. Pretty haunting screams. Reading about how long it took for help to arrive and to get her off the court makes it seem pretty shocking from Wimbledon.
That's because players are going into matches injured so they can collect their money and retire one set into the match.Do you think it has something to do with the ground? Mladenovic and Riske apparently wanted to stop playing on their court, said it was too slippery and there was no grass left. Not seen too many other comments other than how slow conditions are but the courts all look terrible considering it's only day four. Think most of the retirements (certainly Klizan and Dolgopolov) were due to existing issues though, to be fair.Do you think it has something to do with the ground? I've watched it a few times and still don't understand what happened (the injury) just looks like a bad twist? I'm not very smart with injuries so what would a bad twist actually do? Tear ligaments or something?
Also, all this 15 minutes bollocks is people over reacting because most tennis fans aren't used to seeing a serious injury. I can't think of such an injury in tennis before? Nothing that has appeared as serious as this one?
The amount of slipping on the grass is a little strange. Every year it's the same; players turn into Falcao out there. Is there an issue with footwear?
Khachanov, warm the feck up already. Unforced errors a plenty.
