Reading about Medvedev and what he also did last year. Doesn't sound like a pleasant fella.

Really sruggling to see beyond Rafa this year. He's moving better than he has in years, has a bit more fizz on the forehand again and doesn't seem to be missing as many balls. I think it's hard to imagine Federer, at his age and with his record over the past 3 years or so, being able to play consistently well over the two weeks for the second slam in a row. Djokovic is still an unknown (though I could see him beating Federer in the semi, if they both make it there). I think this summer's Nadal beats this summer's Murray and, if so, Nadal looks a lot more battle hardened than Djokovic at the moment. Lots of ifs, obviously, but Rafa looks really comfortable on the back of a great season so far.

Can't expect every Slam to speed up their courts to help Federer win a Slam no? That being said, surprised they didn't make it the fastest ever for Fed to get #19

Let the hate flow through you.

These people that constantly shout 'Come on ... !' have got to be the most annoying spectators of any sport.

I have Federer and Djoko over Nadal and Murray. Federer is very well rested and with his serve for free points, he's not going to find many tough games here.

I'm struggling to get anything from this match. This guy looks completely useless and has let Nadal cruise in 2nd gear by giving up early breaks

3rd set been far more competitive

Young played well in that third set. Rafa got nervy serving out the match first time around, but solid win. The test starts now for Rafa.

Didn't see it but Khachanov seemed to have a fairly tight 4th set match today who he'll play next.

That last set was the first at a slam since Australia where he dropped more than 4 games.

I'm tipping Roger Federer or Novak Djokovic to win Wimbledon, it will be either one of these two if they were to meet in the semis. Was thinking Nadal as he has regained his best form but he doesn't really have a good record in Wimbledon, does he? It's been 5 years since Federer won Wimbledon and this tournament is supposed to be his playground just like French Open is to Nadal and Australian Open is to Djokovic, the fact that he skipped the French Open shows he's been preparing for this tournament and I believe he is on a mission to win this year Wimbledon but never write off Djokovic, he's a wounded animal and Wimbledon is where his career fell apart and he picking himself up where he fell down would be so fitting. I'm a Djokovic fan so I hope he somehow regains his mental strength and form to go all the way for this year's Wimbledon. Can't see Murray winning it again as he seems to lost it after getting World #1 and I can't see him beating the rest of the Big 3. It would be a toss-up between Djokovic, Federer or Nadal.

I think we will have a better idea this evening once Federer and Djokovic have (hopefully) played a full match. Yes they've both impressed on grass pre-Wimbledon but this tournament is totally different, it's a 2 week fishbowl commitment, best of 5 sets instead of 3, all sorts of extra media attention. Djoko's personal problems are well documented (Mcenroe has brought them out in to the open again in the last day or so) and who knows how he might hold up mentally. With Federer, he will be 36 soon and while he is still playing well, no one is a match for father time and if he has an off day and gets taken to 5, his recovery time could well run close to his next match.
I can kind of see why the bookies only make Murray 4th favourite due to his form since becoming World #1 but I think his form could snowball and he will be a real threat again.

Both of them have really easy matches today. R3 for Novak and R4 for Federer will be a real indication I think

Problem is he is still not fit enough, going by his training session the other day.

This is an interesting year for sure. I think Nadal made it to Wimby final all the years he won all FO, Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Rome, while Fed has won Wimby whenever he started the year by winning AO, Indian Wells and Miami. Something will have to give this time around.

To be fair Murray had an easy match in R1 at the Aegon, the top players are nowhere near as invincible as they once were.

Happened before, not too long ago. Remember Istomin?
TBF, Djokovic hasn't got his act yet back then, it was in January and he just lost the World #1 ranking to Murray so his morale was probably at an all-time low. Still pissed off thinking about that match, it costs me 2k.

As weird as this sounds, I think the fact that he sacked his entire coaching team is an encouraging sign because it shows that he still care about his career, and he hired Andre Agassi and Mario Ancic to find his mojo back. Still too early to tell though, personally, I can only see one of Djokovic, Federer or Nadal winning Wimbledon but it wouldn't be surprising to see the up-and-coming players like Thiem or Zverz step up and make a deep run.

I actually had a joke with my mate that Wawrinka could win this year's Wimbledon because he's won the Australian Open in 2014, French Open in 2015 and US Open in 2016 and he crashed out in the first round. such a weird and unpredictable player.

Still hard to get a read on Djokovic given his opponent today but Gulbis being a set up on Delpo bodes well for him. Dimitrov looked very good earlier, could be a fun 4th round vs Federer if they both get there.

It only moved to starting a week later like 2 years ago....how can you not remember that far back? -_-

Anyone seen the Mattek-Sands incident? Went down with a horrible looking injury, you could hear her screaming for help. 20 minutes later she's still screaming and surrounded by a bunch of medics... Probably one of the most distressing scenes in tennis for a long time.

Blowing out your knee is apparently extremely painful, poor kid. 25 minutes to get her on a stretcher, though. That sucks

Yeah it's really nasty. My friends who did it said weirdly the moment it happened didn't hurt but then it becomes hideous. Obviously being unable to put any weight on it without folding too. Poor girl, wouldn't wish it on anyone it's a nasty joint to come back from.

Ah jesus, the video of the injury isn't a good one. Pretty haunting screams. Reading about how long it took for help to arrive and to get her off the court makes it seem pretty shocking from Wimbledon.
