Just think he's lost all motivation after winning RG. Doesn't look like he wants to dominate and be the GOAT

If you recall 5 years ago when Djokovic was really coming into his dominant period, Federer and Nadal also lost some of their mojo - much of which happened because of Djokovic's dominance. They have now managed to reclaim their old form, at least for the time being. Djokovic can easily do the same if he sorts out his ability to focus properly.

He's basically doing the tennis equivalence of Mourinho at Chelsea 15/16.

I agree. He seems to have thrown in the towel and just going through the motions now. Hopefully the win yesterday helps him.

I think the difference for me is that Federer and Nadal just were getting beaten by better players and it was not a mental issue with them. Djoko still is better than Fed, Nadal and Murray but he just doesn't seem checked in mentally at all. Maybe he has nothing to play for now that he's won all Slams. Maybe if he had some sort of target to chase he'd be back to his best.

If he's not checked in mentally then he's not better than Fed. Tennis is a very mental game where the body simply follows the mind.

Some fun matches to kick things off today. Wouldn't be surprised to see Stan struggle against Medvedev, and Kyrgios vs Herbert and Cilic vs Kohli could get interesting. The Murray and Nadal matches should be pretty routine.

I tried at work to see what ticketmaster is like this year (no intention of going tomorrow). I refreshed bang on 9am, must have made the search by 09:00:30 and the centre court tickets were all gone.

I know for certain bands they have deal with ticketmaster where if your a member of the bands website your able to buy tickets a few days before official release, it might be the same with Wimbledon.

Still expect Kyrgios to beat him, but will lose most probably to Paire in the next round. Doesn't look good at all.

Pretty sure this isn't the case here unfortunately. Part of the 'tradition'.

Andy v Bublik away to start. Bublik seems like a really nice guy, when asked if he'll cope with the spotlight of Centre Court, he replied 'Nah, it's beautiful, finally someone will see my trick shots, I'm doing them all the time and nobody ever sees!'.

He also interviewed Andy and quizzed him whether he should refer to him as Sir Andy through the match. Good laugh.

First shock of the tournament, though it doesn't feel like that big a one.

Think Nadal could do it this year, looks really strong.
He did look good in the moment I caught, but I'd be wary of reading too much into it. Millman has been injured most of the year and looked like a perfect match up for Rafa. Positive signs though.

He looked ok. But like Saivet said that was easy match as you can get. His opponent didn't really have a killer weapon like a big serve or powerful forehand.

Stan and Nick, both potential Murray opponents, out today. Well, the draw is opening up for him again so he should make it to the semi/final from his half.

As for Nadal, great match yes but can absolutely make no judgement from this game as it's exactly the kind of guy he can beat on grass. Need to see how he plays against a big server and hitter to know how well he can do here. I still maintain, a second week here would be a great result.

Think Nadal will be happy with how the two main courts have been playing today, both have looked slower than the opening days of the last few years at least.

Bedene just Karlovic in an epic 5 setter. Well deserved.

If he makes it to the second I'll fancy him to make it to the SF/Final. Court will slow up, playing more into his hands

You say that, but not sure they make much of a difference for Murray. Didn't think Stan would even make the SF and Kyrgios admitted he wasn't fit, but even if he was fully fit, Murray destroys him every time. Kyrgios looks up to Murray unlike the other big players and always seems to struggle against him.

It's got better, but I thought Murray had the best draw of the big 4 when it was made anyway.

Big if that but. He's not made it past the 2nd Round in his last 4 attempts here IIRC. The big hitters in the next two rounds will be a huge test for him. If he makes it through that and to the second week, he could make a respectable SF appearance.

Yeah on grass I don't ever expect Stan to do much but he's still a big game player so if he did make it to a match with Murray, he'd give him a tough match. Nick, I agree, he just seems to respect Murray too much and doesn't play against him the way he does against the others. Anyway, it has opened up a bit for him and he should easily sail through to the latter rounds now.

Konta has the most annoying face and voice. Not sure what it is.

Yeah can't stand her. There's a bit of arrogance about her when she has accomplished very little. Came off pretty stupid when she had a interview with a Jonathan Ross.

Laura Robson is the same. Waste of funding and wildcards. I know she has had injuries but so have other players. She been fit for more than a year now.

Was hoping we'd be in for another Isner-Mahut considering the lacks of breaks in that match. Karlovic made some really poor decisions on his serve in that final game though, not sure there's ever been a player who depends on their serve to the extent he does.

Can't really blame the guy for that. He's 6:11 so hardly going to move around the court fast. He's making the best use of his weapons and fair play to him for that. He still has to practice and perfect that serve.

Aye true, wasn't necessarily a slight on him since his serve is genuinely fantastic and great to watch when he's on form.

Anyone got the Wimbledon app? I selected favorite players, but no notifications coming through.

Wawrinka sucks on grass and Kyrgios at his state at the moment would've been an easy opponent for him. Millman was a great opposition to start for Nadal. Young also is the better opponent for him than Istomin. So far the top half is going well for the favorites.

Delpo goes through. Sets up pretty fun match with Gulbis.

Djokovic off to a nervy start against Klizan.

Doesn't look like Klizan will last long, bit of a bonus for Novak after going all the way at Eastbourne last week.
