€1,500 @3.75 which is pretty decent odds. Would also put €200 on Wawrinka as I can see him making a deep run, so would hedge my bet.How much are you putting on?

It's mental to hedge your bet on Wawrinka rather than Federer...€1,500 @3.75 which is pretty decent odds. Would also put €200 on Wawrinka as I can see him making a deep run, so would hedge my bet.
He's been good on hard courts this season though so he really should make it through to Week 2 unless he suddenly totally loses steam. It's mental to hedge your bet on Wawrinka rather than Federer...
There are plenty of guys that would also take Nadal out in the first week.
Think he overplayed a bit in the Spring given his age and having in mind his usual results post Wimbey might be a bit off the pace. He's been good on hard courts this season though so he really should make it through to Week 2 unless he suddenly totally loses steam.
He also hasnt done well in USO for a few years now. Withdrew in 2014, 3rd round exit to Fognini in 2015, 4th round exit to Pouille last year.Think he overplayed a bit in the Spring given his age and having in mind his usual results post Wimbey might be a bit off the pace.
Especially if he enters both Montreal and Cincy.
Just read about this. Any idea if they will get a tv channel on Sky?Amazon have snapped up the rights for the ATP tour after 2018 from Sky in the UK.
You would have said the same before the AO this year.He also hasnt done well in USO for a few years now. Withdrew in 2014, 3rd round exit to Fognini in 2015, 4th round exit to Pouille last year.
Ofc he is in a different form this year compare to those years, but all things considered Stan and Cilic are just as if not more dangerous. Stan had a forgettable Wimbledon as usual but he reached the AO semi, Indian Wells final and RG final. On a hard fast court he'll be very potent.
You would have said the same before the AO this year.
I think given Rafa's form he'll be competitive and while those Stan and Cilic have a chance I'd consider them as less favorite for this. Montreal and Cincy could change my opinion though.
A comfortable second favorite behind a big favorite in Fed to me.I have no doubt he'd be competitive, but he'll not be clear favourite, rather on equal footing or slightly below Fed and Stan. Cilic maybe a bit of a stretch but it's just a feeling he has a point to prove after the way Wimbledon ended. My gut instinct tend to be correct so far.

Not a fan of streaming live sports to be honest.

Shame that. I tried out Prime (to watch a movie) and I thought the UI was pretty poor and even the content was lacking. Anything I wanted to watch apart from that one movie I had to pay extra for.Nah I think they'd package it with Prime.
Rights for ATP tournaments are that cheap? Just cost Amazon 10m. Seems quite low considering what amounts Sky pay for football.
Yup, it's going to be part of the Prime package. It's cheap here in India but not so much in the UK/Europe so it's a decent price to pay to watch the non Slam tournaments. The rights eventually went to Amazon for 2m more than what Sky was paying right now and that seems quite low an amount to lose the rights for. It's hundreds of hours of telecast they're letting go off.Nah I think they'd package it with Prime.
I'm with you on the streaming. But writing was on the wall when Sky stopped showing the US open after 20 years. That's more than 100 hours content they gonna stop showing.
Plus their weekdays especially during champions league weeks are empty. Tennis filled that up nicely especially during the March-May months. I would prefer watching one of the big four play rather than some boring champions league game which BT are showing.
I'm sort of glad they changed the packages. Tennis was the reason that I have kept all of it. I'd probably look to get rid of Golf and Cricket.
Any update on Murray's injury?Wawrinka out of Montreal and Cincy.
Federer will play Montreal. That's Wawrinka, Djokovic and perhaps Murray missing next week. But unfortunate for the top guys to struggle with injuries so close to the USO.
Not yet. Latest he said that he looked good for the USO, but he's still recovering from hip injury. Would be madness to enter Canada not 100% ready tho. He has no points to defend either way so probably he'd either go for Cincy or directly at the USO IMO.Any update on Murray's injury?
Even though this has been a good year for the two biggest fan groups, this year of tennis has been pretty poor and seems with all the injuries, it may finish the same way.

I forgot about TennisTV, never had any need to use it.Just had a look.
Tennistv do a sub for £9.99 a month and you can watch it via iOS or Android. They added Xbox one support too. You get all the masters, 500 and some 250 events.
On Murray's insta story yesterday he was using the Wimbledon gym, so it definitely gave the impression that he's not playing soon.@saivet Murray pulled out of Montreal today - confirmed.
Cilic and Fognini are also out. Kyrgios also looked out of shape at Washington and could miss as well.

If Nadal makes the SF, he becomes no.1.
I believe the draw is later today.
What an awful ending to the season it's been.
Federer should be ok IMO. Both Montreal and Cincy are 5 match tournaments(compared to IW/Miami where the draw is bigger) and the condition favor him a lot, especially at Cincy.Fed promised to play more tennis post Wimby but a run of 2 back to back Masters 1000 prior to Flushing Meadows is going to be tough if he gets far in both. The ideal scenario would be going out early in Montreal and winning/getting to Cincy's final to pick up steam going into USO without overtaxing himself.
Don't know how Nadal's body is holding up, he's played a lot of tennis already this season and should be running out of steam in a month's time. I think we will see a winner other than the Big 2 at one of those events at the very least.
I wouldn't read much into this. 2015 was his worst ever year.Nadal is a bit of a question mark as he has played a lot and that's the part of the season where he begins to break down.
Last time he played both Canada and Cincy was 2 years ago where he bombed out early and also lost 3rd round at the USO. Will be interesting to see if he'll play them both. Federer most likely will.
Well if he wins USO he's more than likely to finish no.1 anyway, of the remaining 7000 pts to play for you need around 4k to be home and dry and winning a Slam is half of that.Personally I don't care about the number 1. It's all about what Federer does in the GS.
I wouldn't read much into this. 2015 was his worst ever year.
Provided there are no fitness issues we don't know about, I think Rafa will be fine playing both before the US Open.
Last time Federer played both it definitely affected him in New York. That combined with how tired he looked in Miami doesn't fill me with confidence but I'm pretty sure he'll either go deep in Montreal and drop out of Cincinnati, or go out early in Montreal and try to go deep in Cincinnati. Think it's more like a safeguard against a Dubai/Stuttgart and going to New York with no match practice as opposed to a serious attempt to win both.
He also had to save match points against Monfils, dropped a set to Granollers and generally didn't play that well throughout. Night and day compared to 2015 when he skipped Montreal.Miami and IW are really awful with their damp slow conditions and the rallies are much longer. Think he'll be fine, especially with this depleted field and unlikely someone to pose a great challenge bar Nadal at Canada.
Disagree with playing both affected him at New York. He lost to Cilic who was simply the better player on that day(night) and blasted him off court.
