Tennis 2015

Nadal was up two sets and a break against Fognini. Now he's two sets all.

Just sad to see how far Nadal has fallen.

This is some of the most entertaining, balls to the wall tennis I've ever seen. Love Nadal, but what Fognini is doing here is unbelievable.

It's not really.

Dustin Brown hit like 58 winners against Nadal in four sets. Nadal is playing passive and not being aggressive at all. If you go out there on court and hoping your opponent will miss then it won't get you nowhere. Maybe other players mentally might crack as its Nadal. But quite a few have not. That was basically the blueprint of how Nadal has lost this year.

Nadal literally has no attacking weapon. His serve is piss poor. His forehand is just awful at the moment. There's not much power As before. His opponents are aggressive. But why isn't Nadal aggressive? He just doesn't have any attacking weapons at the moment.

He really needs to get a new coach alongside Toni. Someone with fresh ideas.

beating Rafa today should not be greeted with life-inspiring blah blah any more

Totally. I watched Nadal yesterday. He's still scurrying around and able to make the balls. The difference is that he is unable to come up with shots that hurt his opponent like he used to. He's on the backfoot in almost every rally, especially on his serve. I suppose the positive is that he looks alright physically.

You guys are really underselling Fognini's performance.

He was good. But plenty of players (average ones at that) have done a similar thing to Rafa recently to make you think that it's plainly the opponent having a great match.

One of the best matches of the year between Kerber and Azarenka. Not only was it very competitive, the quality was high through all 3 sets with some truly incredible shot-making from both players. Kerber's defense is truly incredible, it's only Azarenka's mentality that pulled her through in the end. She hates to lose more then any other player on the WTA not named Serena Williams. Glad I decided to watch today.

Yep, I have been saying this for a while. He is too stale at the moment and is being left behind. His forehand is just terrible, not getting any depth in the shot. Just had a good look at the draw for the rest of the Open, expect Novak to cruise through. Think it will be Fed/Djokovic again.

Not watching but Murray close to going two sets down. Can he do it again?

Anderson has shown he can choke in the past like he did against Djokovic.

It will be tough for Murray though with the way he is serving and the conditions.

Yeah, I was at that match. If Murray takes the third set, I think he should at least be able to take it to the decider. Not got access to Sky where I am, so hoping I will wake up to reading of another Murray comeback!

Huge break back. Given he was 40-15 down, can see the crowd getting behind Murray here given they want more sets haha

OMG, what a point that was!

Edit: Oops triple post.
Also tie break for third set.

Murray's certainly not making it easy for himself this year.

It's hilarious hearing Murray ramble and swear to himself. You can see how badly he wants it.

Anderson just dominated that tiebreak, wow. Brill by Anderson.

Truly brilliant tiebreak by big Anderson today. Just brutal there, especially one of his ROS was sickening, I think on the 4th point. Great match though, tough luck for Murray as Anderson played a hell of a match.

Federer up 7:6 (7:0) 7:6 (7:5). Had to dig deep in that 2nd tie break but produced some magic to win the last two points.
Fun match so far. Federer better than against Kohlschreiber, but still not on the level of the Darcis match. Isner playing good tennis as well.

Well Darcis was awful.

Federer wasn't going to have it easy against Isner. Isner serves very well and you need to be patient.

Federer is playing the perfect game so far. He is serving well, which Murray did not do earlier.

Good god, the Centre Court Interviewer at the US Open this year is a fecking nightmare. Horrible, horrible questions... fly Jim Courier in asap!

Federer's got a tougher route to the final than Djokovic. Gasquet is in good form and if he gets past him it's one of the two big hitters in Wawrinka and Anderson. I can see an upset there. Wawrinka in particular can destroy anyone on his day.

Whereas Djokovic will most likely beat Lopez and then meet Cilic who he pretty much always beats.

Stan has a very bad record vs Anderson while Federer loves the servebots, so if Anderson beats Stan I can see Fed easily making the finals

Wawrinka himself beat Federer in straight sets at the French Open. I think he'll beat Anderson.
