I never thought id see the day where Rodgers is under serious consideration as MUFC manager.
Surely there must be another option.

I hope the protests and walkouts resume, it seems the only language the Glazers understand.
 
You ring Ten Hag now and tell him it's now or never. This is the ideal time to take over. Free pass until the end of the season to implement his system(s)/methods, couple of signings in the Summer, goes into his first full season with the best possible chance

Yeah If you can show me where he turned down Bayern I’ll take a look.

Klopp turned us down because we currently had a manager at the helm. I’m sure the Disney land speech didn’t help. But I’m sure whatever Liverpool said at that time to him wouldn’t of changed either. It all changed when he was out of work though.
 
Why does it have to be Rodgers now or ten Haag at end of season? If our board had a brain then they’d get a caretaker in now and then employ ten Haag next season so he gets a full pre season with the squad and hopefully the caretaker goes on a good run and gets us top 4. Ragnick is calling out to take over even for just the rest of the season.

They haven't won a European Cup in 26 years, and haven't been in a CL final in 25 years, what next? Notts Forest are a club with a bigger reputation than City and Arsenal in European football?

But that doesn't change the fact that Ajax have been more successful than us is in Europe.

That's not the point, the point is ten Hag is at a club with a big reputation in Europe and he's coaching a club which he himself has said was a dream. He's not gonna abandon that club mid season
 
While I prefer Ten Hag I admit he is a risk. I also believe this club can't keep writing off season after season and at some point we have to demand success now (atleast chase it). Therefore I have gone for Rodgers now!

I see both managers now as 7/10.

Ten Hag had the potentially to go above that but could also fall fair short in this league. Rodgers in the other hand I think would be a steady 7 and with our squad, I honestly believe he could achieve.

Eitherway, for me we need someone to come in now and do much better job. If that man is Rodgers he has my backing.

You don’t know him, I don’t know him.

With enough money thrown his way* none of us can say he couldn’t be convinced to join mid December when the Dutch league Winter break kicks in. It’d give Ajax 3 weeks or so to find his replacement and get him installed.

*Ole’s on about 5 times his salary.
 
Ten Hag at the end of season is by far the most popular choice amongst fans.

I don't know him but have listened to him and read the the views of journos close to Ajax. And that's how I form my view he wouldn't abandon ship mid season and destabilise their season for a club that has struggled both domestically and in Europe's premier competition for well over a decade.

You have a point about Bayern - I was just repeating what I heard in this thread. It was a bit more complicated than a public turn down it seems. These things always are. Nobody wants to lose face by being the one rejected.

Since when has it become necessary to know someone personally to know how they think? He's gone on record and said certain things including Bayern being a club close to his heart along with Ajax.
 
The Man Utd manager job is now a very high pressure, high risk job. How much time and money would a new manager have, and what would his KPI and minimum achievements be and over what grace period before the fans and owners want him out? Any potential manager would have to run thru these questions first before taking the job. And in particular, Ten Hag and Rodgers, who are currently in two of the safest jobs in the industry, would have to think very carefully before taking up the hot seat.
 
I voted Rodgers now because we get rid of Ole quicker that way. The club don't want to bring in an interim.
 
Ten Hag at the end of the season, but with the caveat of him signing soon to take over in the summer w/ interim.

Lots can change in 2 years, but you know that already.

The truth is, you simply don’t know if he’d be open to joining United during the winter break if offered an incredible package. None of us do.

Yes he was asked two years ago about joining a club which he has said is close to his heart in Bayern and he turned them down. I doubt he'd have a problem turning down United mid-season.

Mike Verweij/Romano have also both reported that's it's impossible to prize him away mid season.

We need change now if that’s an interim or whatever if we carrry in with Ole this season is a 7th place finish.

You say that as if Rodgers coming is guaranteed to catapult us in top 4. The man has bottled it twice in a row now with Leicester. I'd rather gamble on Ole reaching top 4, miss and get a better manager in the summer, than appoint Rodgers, still miss, but be stuck with him for the foreseeable future.

City signed Pep in January for next season so it has been done before. But if Ten Hag agreed a caretaker would still be needed. But it's all pie in the sky. They will appoint Rodgers because they don't give two shits.

I would love that we start with big club policy regarding managers. Hire best one available now and that is Rodgers. Give him 18 months contract. If he does well for the rest of the season, keep him. If not, sack him.

A caretaker would be the best option, but the way things are going, we will lose Ronaldo in January if we don’t get Ole sacked, and then a good chunk of our squad will want to leave in the summer. I would take Rodgers now over Ole staying.
 
Why the board don’t just get an interim only till the end of the season and put a plan to sign a top manager after? Just sack Ole for the sake of it and at least to not lose important players and buy good time to have a plan at the end of the season as I don’t think anyone now can’t do worst than Ole doing as he IMO deserves the sack after all these humiliation defeats and performances we saw against our main rivals. He just can’t stay.
