I don't see what Rodgers brings other than 'something different', which seems to be what many will now settle for after years of complaining that we don't have one of the best.

It's going under the radar that Leicester have been poor this season (and longer). We'd arguably be doing them a favour.

He's a good manager. I don't think there's much between him and somebody like Poch. Let's face it, Ten Hag, Poch, Rodgers...we're not talking Guardiola or Klopp level managers. This is the table we are at currently unless you want to plod on with Ole. I've defended Rodgers a bit in the past because whenever I watch Leicester I see all the fundamentals, everything we bemoan not having. A plan, a clear style, well coached. Last season they had an injury ravaged side and played us off the park still in the FA Cup. Go back and read the comments after that game. He's much more than 'something different', he's a very good coach and, a plus for the club, he's not a difficult character either. He'll work with young players too.

With regards to Leicester, they were poor at the back end of last season and so far this season. But in his defence, they have leaked goals having had a completely injury ravaged defence. When he has his players together he has shown what he can do. Unfortunately at Leicester they don't have the depth to their squad like we do. When he has Fofana, Evans, Ndidi, Justin, Barnes, Maddison and a couple of others missing, they predictably struggle.

If Ten Haag wont leave Ajax till the end of the season then how badly does he want the job. Not a lot that I can tell you. If Gerrard can walk out of Rangers after all he built then Ten Haag should come now or fk off.
Arrogance and ignorance won't get us far.

Man Utd eats good managers for breakfast. I've given up expecting a manager to do well, no matter how impressive his CV. Might as well toss a coin as far as I'm concerned.

Ten Hag by a huge margin, get Ragnik in as interim until then as under Ole I think we might fail to get top 4.

Interim isn't a choice in the hypothetical scenario posted by the OP. That would obviously change things a lot.

But if you think we won't just stick with Ole if he got top 4, even if Ten Hag was ready and waiting, then what can I say? You've learnt nothing from the last few weeks,

Their line up in that FA Cup game was better than ours that day, 10/11 started the final. Its probably the best I've seen them play in the last year, they look very average a lot of the time.

Oh I know our board are a sack of shit who have zero ambition, if we keep Ole to get Ten Hag then he better be ok with Europa League football as that's where we'll be, but I'd take that over Rodgers.

That's a tough one. Hmm, failed Liverpool manager you say ...

My seat will be empty if we get him in. Total lack of ambition from the club.

That still won't make ten Hag come mid season, so not sure what relevance it has to your original post which you've deviated away from.

Well F him. Non of us should want him if he doesn’t want us now. Simple

I'm sure he'd tell you to f off as well. He only gives two fecks about the job at hand if you listen to him.

Brendan Rodgers I'm sure would come running to appease you.

Whole point of the OP is to pick between two different dilemmas, not just make up your own scenario where everything is rosey. In the OP, impending doom is apparent, which makes the choice all the more difficult:

Get Hag at the end of the season, possibly with a mass exodus and a club in tatters; or get Rodgers now, miss out on Hag and possibly face a mediocre future with a calamitous European ride thrown in for good measure, but! do so with the world class squad we've got trying to salvage the season.

We really needed another thread for this?

Poch might be available in the summer as well, so a lot can happen in the next 6 to 8 months.

Has there been any links to Ten Hag at all?
Judging by the number of threads on here you would think he's a serious contender for the job.

We're going to end up with Rodgers.

Obviously Ten Hag next season.

Yeah I support United not Ten Hag. He can fail miserable for all I care with his fanboys

Ten hag... ideally with overmars and van der sar

We will probably end up with sacking old in April putting neville as caretaker manager... winning a game or 2 and then give him a few more years contract

This is why I genuinely believe that us fans know more than the board. The decisions are made by businessmen who know little about football so can't see defeats coming.

I see why you think it but ask yourself how likely that is to be true realistically?

Is it not far more likely that the board know the same thing you know but they also know that football success is a secondary priority compared to the commercial profits of the franchise. Ole's value lies not in his skill as a coach but in his ability to act as a lightning conductor for the fans' righteous loathing of the Glazer business model.

I'd take Rodgers now, Ten Hag is good, but the reason people seem to forget the main reason Ajax play the way they do is because for years they have followed the Cruffy blueprint of "Total football" I have nnot seen Ten Hag stamp his own identity on a football team yet, Rodgers for me all day all week all year, cmon guys lets fix this mess we are in and get RODGERS IN RIGHT NOW!

31 posts in four years? You kept us waiting for this?

I don't think any United fan supports ten Hag, but fans like ourselves aren't gullible/arrogant to think certain head coaches will drop everything to come into a new team mid season whilst destabilising their current club's season.

If you did a poll 99% of respondents (including me) would say Ten Hag at the end of the season. Anyone who thinks Rodgers is worth a punt is doing so on the assumption that Ten Hag isn’t available. He turned down Bayern Munich quite recently, why would he leap at the chance to manage us?

Are there any links to Ten Hag at all? We've heard some buzz about Conte, Rodgers and even Ragnick but there aren't any links to Ten Hag at all.

I'm just hoping one of the journos asks Ten Hag what his long term plans are and if he's even willing to leave Ajax at the end of the season.

Seems a pointless thread given that we are not talking to anyone. Ten Hag would probably go somewhere else.

It’s not gullible or arrogant. It’s the ability to be real. Most of you guys pu$$i foot reality. You actually think managers from Ajax turn down United because of projects and giving their word to having good Champions league Campaigns?

Wake up. This is not how football works.

This is such a obvious opposition supporter trap. Imagine being a United fan and wanting Rodgers at all.

The ability to be real? Ajax are a club with a bigger reputation than us in European football and have won more European Cups. It's people like you who have views which don't correlate to reality and quite naively compare a club like Rangers to Ajax.

ten Hag my first choice, if a guarantee at the end of the season then an easy joke. Happy for Rodgers to come in now if it's not happening though.

Didn't he turn down Bayern? Didn't Klopp turn us down? It seems exactly how football works. People with good reputations don't want to put their dicks in Woodward's vice.

I expected that response. Somewhere in Argentina a River plate fan is arguing there a bigger club than Manchester United.

Which is pretty much the same nonsense you are spewing now.

Yeah, let's use River Plate who play in a different continent. A typical response from you that.

Without a shadow of a doubt - Ten Hag. Rodgers is duct tape. He can patch things quickly, but they will eventually fall apart again. He just isn't good enough. Ten Hag has what it takes to be world class in 2-3 years. Rodgers has proven he isn't world class material. Imagine we take Rodgers now and he stays for two years. Meanwhile, Ten Hag goes to Barcelona or is lined up by City or who knows even Newcastle. Missing out on him for a quick fix now would be a massive mistake. And think about this, if Ajax drops out of UCL early on, Ten Hag might be more susceptible to come here earlier than summer.
