Sure he did. Maybe he just felt he wasn’t ready. No1 is turning down Bayern to stay at Ajax. Stop believing stupid nostalgia. Gerrard just left Rangers for Villa. You think Ten Hag would be that stupid.

Same with the United job. If he doesn’t want it now feck him. I don’t want him end of the season.
There's a big difference between Rangers and Ajax for a start.

Ten Hag isn't stupid but rather loyal to Ajax and his close friend Overmars and wouldn't abandon ship mid season, especially with Ajax looking good in the UCL. You have to be extremely gullible to think he would abandon a project he's been at the forefront of mid-season to step into a team with little concept of how to apply themselves with and with out the ball.

If it is possible Ten Hag now. Maybe in January who knows?

What’s the difference mate? Ajax league is less shite than the Scottish league. Either way both leagues are shite.

Wasnt Overmars pimping himself out for United, Arsenal, Barca and lately a candidate for Newcastle?

Make it make sense please..

Rogers now. It still pains me to say Ole out as I thought he was building something very good after watching his first two seasons here but the end of last season and this season have demonstrated he's nowhere near good enough and he has to go. If he remains in charge for the rest of the season we won't get top 4, half of our top players will want to leave at the end of the season and this will impact us for years to come.

It has to be Rogers now, who will get us top 4 and steady the ship.

You make too much sense.

It highlights the problem with sacking right now. Sacking him is one thing but people don't want the most likely quick alternative. These 'caretakers' ready to come in and guarantee top 4 don't exist.

Stop with this end of the season nonsense ! It’s not like Ten Hag can dictate his terms. We will do him a favor giving him the job now while bumping his salary, not the other way round !

So I will take Ten Hag now !

The difference is the Champions League

Overmars has made it clear he'd like a new challenge but only when it's convenient for himself and Ajax.

Ajax aren’t winning the bloody Champs League

A champions league he won’t win anyway…

Sometimes you have to take opportunities when they come as you are never certain they will come again.

As a club we are too nice. We seem unable to dictate terms.

Rodgers , not because I want him above Ten Hag but he can come in now. I can't tolerate another minute under the current regime.

Whether they're are winning or not is irrelevant. They're definitely competing in the Champions League, unlike Rangers who have done nothing at that level in comparison to Ajax for several decades.

There's a few problems with this and the only way I could accept it is if United came out right now and released an official statement saying he would be our manager this summer. Because other than that, as a supporter, there are endless issues with this line of thought.

Firstly, if it isn't obvious by now that we want to keep Ole at all costs, then it should be. I could put my house on it that if we had Ten Hag lined up for summer, the club would feck him off without hesitation if Ole took us to top 4. Or a cup win. Or anything they could tangibly paint as progress.

Secondly, short of having a binding contract with Ten Hag, I would fully expect him to get a better offer this summer. If we didn't have CL football especially. The potential list of players that you would and could expect to leave this summer is huge, we're looking at Rebuild 2.0 the way things are going.

Lastly, how much do we think he actually wants this job? You hear stories of him turning down much better run clubs such as Bayern. If he wanted the job then I think he'd take it now. Everybody knows that, in football, sometimes these opportunities come around only once. Any manager that says 'maybe in the summer' has 100% considered in their head that we might be forced to act before then and they could miss out on the job. If they are happy with that then they don't really want the job.

I still don’t get your point. He’s staying to listen to Champions league music which currently also plays at the better club he will be joining

If you did a poll 99% of respondents (including me) would say Ten Hag at the end of the season. Anyone who thinks Rodgers is worth a punt is doing so on the assumption that Ten Hag isn’t available. He turned down Bayern Munich quite recently, why would he leap at the chance to manage us?

Money - prestige, you get to manage one of the greatest players in the history of the game and the fact the German league is a joke. Some managers would relish the thought of taking United back to the top. I think most managers want to manage in the prem nowadays. What's more United seem to have a strong Dutch connection with ex players who recommend the club (one of the reasons we got VDB).

Unfortunately we passed on the only manager that I could confidently say would have got us top 4 in Conte. All I know is I fancy our chances more with any of these managers than with Ole. We're not signing our life away, how about we just approach it like other clubs and monitor how the football side of things is actually working out, along with having a succession plan. Assess our progress on a routine basis instead of getting a manager and just forgetting about it until the next shit storm.

Of course he dictated his terms.

Yeah right, so we should go for someone else if he doesn’t want to come now.
Conte wanted to come and he is a much bigger name.
Some people act like the guy is Pep Guardiola and has nothing to prove already.

No, he's not staying to listen to Champions league music, but is looking to go deep into the competition with his Ajax team in his own words. He was a whisker away from making the final a few years back.

We're the ones listening to the champions league music and listening to blue moon/you'll never walk alone this season.

Its not that, it's just competition. Both for managers and for clubs, supply and demand both ways.

Also if he's professional, he will wait until the end of the season, or Ajax could stop him.

I realise that many want Ten Hag. Me too.
But bear in mind that Rodgers knows our league well and has a record of improving players (and then selling them for big money).
Ten Hag also improves players.
Ole, doesn't improve players.
Ten Hag will be a risk, while Rodgers will be a safer option.

I am a risk-taker, so would prefer Ten Hag.

Do people think that at the end of the season after Xavi has inevitably been sacked and maybe Poch too Ten Hag would go for us over Barca or PSG.
Unless Xavi is absolutely terrible, I doubt they will sack him so soon. He may well choose those clubs ahead of us but I don't think it's a given for PSG or Barca.

Ten Hag. I don't want Rodgers at all but taking whoever is credible and available at the time is one of the symptoms of the club's total lack of interest in coherent planning.

The board were caught with their pants down. They made no plans, even after the humiliating defeat by Liverpool.
We beat Spurs (who were so bad that their manager was immediately fired), so the board decided to relax.
This is why I genuinely believe that us fans know more than the board. The decisions are made by businessmen who know little about football so can't see defeats coming.

If Ten Haag wont leave Ajax till the end of the season then how badly does he want the job. Not a lot that I can tell you. If Gerrard can walk out of Rangers after all he built then Ten Haag should come now or fk off.

He‘s not winning the f’ing Champs League. It’s as PR as United way.

I don't see what Rodgers brings other than 'something different', which seems to be what many will now settle for after years of complaining that we don't have one of the best.

It's going under the radar that Leicester have been poor this season (and longer). We'd arguably be doing them a favour.

The fact that OLEs still on charge makes me think that we will get Ten Hag at the end of the season, but perhaps I am just too optimistic..

In a normal world (or not?) OLE would have been sacked by now. You just need to check that after our defeat vs Liverpool in OT, 3 teams changed their manager..
Hopefully this will be the case, but we'll need to wait and see...

That's irrelevant because neither are we. So him staying at Ajax until the end of the season and having a good run in the UCL is more beneficial for him.

So on the off chance that we might get a highly coveted (by several elite clubs) manager in the summer, we should not get a manager who is 100 times better than what we have now? Easy. We are already sliding down, need a change before it becomes a free fall

What makes you think Ten Haag would even want to join us if we kept Ole until the end of the season? In that case, we most likely would be out of top 4 and a lot of our senior players would want out.

It doesn’t look like the club will hire a caretaker.

I don`t get the love in for Rodgers , he is an average manager that had a great season with a massively in form Suarez . That team that slipped up in 2014 was never a great side that would never have done anything. The 11 on slip day were Mignolet, Flanagan, Johnson, Skirtel, Sakho, Lucas, Slippy, Allen, Sterling, Coutinho and Suarez. Piss poor. To win the champions league and eventually premier league Klopp ripped the team apart and his starting line up against Spurs in the champions league was Alisson, Alex-Arnold, Robertson, Matip, Van Dijk, Henderson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firminho and Mane.
So yeh, lets have a failed Liverpool manager at United.

We aren’t winning it because we have the worse manager in the competition and if we play Ajax we will knock them out.

That still won't make ten Hag come mid season, so not sure what relevance it has to your original post which you've deviated away from.

Ten Hag by a huge margin, get Ragnik in as interim until then as under Ole I think we might fail to get top 4.

Ten Hag at the end of the season. Get him to use his contacts to appoint an interim manager/coach until the end of the season.
At least there would be some continuity.

I'd take Rodgers now, Ten Hag is good, but the reason people seem to forget the main reason Ajax play the way they do is because for years they have followed the Cruffy blueprint of "Total football" I have nnot seen Ten Hag stamp his own identity on a football team yet, Rodgers for me all day all week all year, cmon guys lets fix this mess we are in and get RODGERS IN RIGHT NOW!
