Telegraph Investigation: England Manager Sam Allardyce For Sale | Big Sam leaves England job

Same. He's an idiot, but i can't help feel bad that something that took him 10 years to finally realise has been undone in the space of a month by something he said years ago.

Still, was hard to see any other outcome.
How long ago was this?
Wasn't he England manager at this stage?

Well. Retired with a perfect record. Most successful England manager ever.

That was quick, was expecting it to drag on for a few more days at least.

Hard to feel any sympathy for England's failures at the national team level, not with the bumbling fecks you guys have at the FA. Who do they answer to by the way?

Leave the memories alone.

Think it's stupid from the FA

Slap on the wrist, move on and everyone will forget about it in a few weeks

Sam Allardyce: Dudley-born England manager to reveal plaque honouring Manchester United star Duncan Edwards

Black Country-born England manager Sam Allardyce is set to unveil a blue plaque commemorating Dudley footballing hero Duncan Edwards.

The ceremony will take place at the Pavilion in Priory Park, Dudley, on October 1.

Duncan Edwards lived on the Priory estate and signed for Manchester United as a teenager. He became the youngest player to play in the Football League First Division and then the youngest England player since the Second World War, before his life was tragically cut short as a result of injuries sustained in the Munich Air Crash in February 1958.

Sam Allardyce, known as 'Big Sam', was born locally on the Old Park Farm Estate and spent his youth playing for Dudley Town before training with West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He carved out a notable career as a professional footballer and team manager before taking on the role as England manager earlier this year.

He said: “On behalf of The FA and England, it is a great honour for me to be asked to take part in such a noteworthy occasion. I look forward to returning home and seeing many familiar faces as we commemorate one of English football’s greatest ever players.”

Dudley North MP Ian Austin has been working with Councillor Dave Tyler and members of the community to honour Duncan Edwards with the plaque at Priory Park - where he honed his skills near to his childhood home on the Priory Estate.

Councillor Tyler and Ian Austin launched an appeal to pay for it, which is being funded with generous donations from residents, Manchester United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Bromwich Albion.

The plaque has been designed by Dudley Artist Steve Field.

Ian Austin MP said: “For anyone like me, who grew up in Dudley, the name of Duncan Edwards is synonymous with the town and your childhood; your school competed for the Duncan Edwards Cup; you saw the stained glass windows at St Francis’s Church.

“We are all so grateful for the generous donations from local people and Manchester United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Bromwich Albion to enable local hero Duncan Edwards to be commemorated with a blue plaque.”

It's a bad year for the plaques. First Busby's plaque was removed, now Big Sam won't be there to unveil Edwards' plaque :(

If only Mike Bassett caretaker manager had hit the kickstarter goal :(

He was foolish but i do feel quite sorry for him. To finally get a shot at the one job he always wanted and to leave so quickly is very sad for him.

It's how I feel

I've always had a soft spot for big Sam and he wanted this job so much :(

Allardyce's official statement on the FA website.

A statement from Sam Allardyce:

"Further to recent events, The FA and I have mutually agreed to part company.

"It was a great honour for me to be appointed back in July and I am deeply disappointed at this outcome.

"This afternoon, I met with Greg Clarke and Martin Glenn and offered a sincere and wholehearted apology for my actions.

"Although it was made clear during the recorded conversations that any proposed arrangements would need The FA’s full approval, I recognise I made some comments which have caused embarrassment.

"As part of today’s meeting, I was asked to clarify what I said and the context in which the conversations took place. I have co-operated fully in this regard.

"I also regret my comments with regard to other individuals."

Bielsa isnt mentally stable enough to cope with the lynch mob that is the English media.
Would be fun to see him having a go at the press though. He'd scare the shit out of them:D

Remember what Ravel Morrison said about him?

Mad
What did Ravel Morrison say? I remember Taylor publishing that article about Big Sam trying to make him sign with a particular agent. Ravel was doing well for West Ham and then got dropped and sent out on load soon after these rumours came about. Was bizarre, but considering his checkered past, not much was made of it at them
