Telegraph Investigation: England Manager Sam Allardyce For Sale | Big Sam leaves England job

Looks like Nigel Pearson is involved. I would imagine Pardew, Redknapp and Sherwood are probably in the mix. They might even have Pulis in there.

Will if Pulis is involved he is not under the 6 English managers.

Could go back a few years. I suppose.

But doesn't the video / article go on to say that he was not advising them how to get around those rules, just stating that's what some people did? As far as I understand, he was actually there with a group of people he thought were legit and wanted him to do speeches and stuff in Asia; they weren't purporting to be criminals, and he wasn't 'advising' them as such. His comments were ill advised bearing in mind his role, but the Telegraph article is twisting the context of what he said.
Having looked at it a 3rd time: yeah you might be right. He deserves the benefit of doubt I guess.

I'm fine with England being shit. Let's at least make it fun and have a laugh though. We should hire Ricky Tomlinson, or Ricky Gervais*

*Must at all times be in character as David Brent
meh, he is good, don't get me wrong, but if England wants to be succesful, they should hire Malcom Tucker!

Not only is he getting sacked, I fear top flight and Championship clubs will avoid hiring him initially due to the bad image this might bring them. You hardly see managers coming into sought after jobs after a controversy of this kind-similar to that ex-Cardiff manager

Just as well he has the financial security of that non-existent £400k, then.

Yeah. That has all the hallmarks of a shady deal.

I think we're in the clear on that one. I've no doubt that it was a deal to carry favour with Mendes, but we did nothing illegal. Unethical, perhaps, but not illegal. There were doubts over how Mendes managed to acquire 30% of Bebe's ownership rights prior to the deal, with allegations that he was poached, but that's on him, not us.

If they sack him, he'll be paid off - maybe not 100% of his outstanding salary, but a very large proportion of it. BS maybe, but just how it works. He'll never need to work again.

Considering one of the guys across from Sam looked like this, you'd have thought he'd have smelled a rat?

Sources have told The Telegraph that the FA takes a "dim view" of the claims and it is understood that he could leave the job as soon as Tuesday afternoon.
...

Guardian:
It is being widely reported that Sam Allardyce has offered his resignation and that his departure is expected to be confirmed shortly after today’s emergency talks.

I suspect, when confirmation drops tonight that Sam Allardyce has left his position with England, it will be classed as "mutual agreement"

I enjoyed the ITV news segment this morning that described Sam as "a beacon of hope for English football" before this story broke. Who the feck had any belief in him? There was a collective sigh when he was announced.

It's gonna be Southgate next, isn't it?

I'm one of those who thinks it should be a Englishman in charge but feck, I really don't want him.

What's Fergie up to these days? He must get getting bored by now.

He said he wasn't ready weeks ago, I don't see why anything would have changed.

Maybe this is wrong and I shouldn't - but I feel bad for Sam.

The FA themselves are bloody corrupt - I believe not one of them has any integrity and are probably mixed up in all sorts. Sam no doubt has to be the scapegoat so that no one looks too closely at the incompetent FA.
Hope Sam didn't sign a confidentiality agreement... would be fun to hear what he has to say about his former employers:D

The fact that him getting the England job screwed over Sunderland, and now it turns out it was all for nothing, is the cherry on top of the cake. Their fans are left wanting Allerdyce back and Moyes out

I know! It's too funny:lol:

Same. He's an idiot, but i can't help feel bad that something that took him 10 years to finally realise has been undone in the space of a month by something he said years ago.

Still, was hard to see any other outcome.

Will be a good signing for any club looking to stay in the PL. Stoke or Swansea maybe.
