Telegraph Investigation: England Manager Sam Allardyce For Sale | Big Sam leaves England job

Is there a clip of him asking for a pint of wine? Haven't seen it on the Telegraph site.

Is there a release date for the entire undercover report about the FA? Because it's quite hard to get the full picture here.

However, if he was in any way trying to take money for helping someone to circumvent player rights laws that are designed prevent a "slavery system" like the one young players in South America get trapped it, which leads to them having no de facto control over who they will play for and how their lives play out, then he should get the mother of all sacks.

If it turns out he drank a pint of lager or ale, he should be sacked.

If it turns out he drank a pint of wine he should be allowed to keep the job.

Think Rooney should apply for the job:D. He already does what he wants so may as well give it him.

Give it to Wayne, can't do any worse than anyone else and it would get him out of our hair.

Sunderland fans must be peeved. Moyes in all because of England. They wanted Sam to stay.

Poison chalice. Hope Brucie doesn't take it. Nothing but a head ache for a good man.

Wow this is astonishing. I have always hated this twat for one reason or another which he keeps on providing. English FA are absolutely clueless to appoint him as a Manager in the first place because it is as clear as day to which direction he will "Guide" English Football team which is already in misery. To sort out their failures in International Competitions who did the English FA turned to ? "Big Sam". Man they got brains !

I remember when he was critical of Liverpool's style and results in the Premier League. Benitez gave him a shut up call when he referred that "Even Barcelona are trying to copy their style of Football". Having a go at Ferguson on that dubious goal against Newcastle, Calling his players with dis-respect when they were pointing out towards their requirements of Halal Food, and the lack of respect that he shows to all around him makes me wonder how he has survived in this management business for so long. May be this is what is required at this level to be a manager i wonder.

The FA don't have much choice other than appointing a foreigner yet again, because the problem about a lack of qualified English managers just goes on and on. It's 16 years ago since Eriksson got appointed because there was already then a lack of qualified English candidates, yet as with anything else regarding English football, nothing happens. The FA is a bunch of inept clowns.

But they invest time in longterm projects like Stuart Pearce and Gareth Southgate, how could they know they wouldn't work out :wenger:

After his spineless comments regarding Rooney I'm hoping he does get sacked. We all know he's doomed to fail anyway.

I read this article this morning and while it's embarrassing for Allardyce I can't see what he said that's really sack-worthy.

Potentially the worst allegation is that he was willing to accept £400,000 to be an ambassador for an Asian company, but even in the article they seemed like they were really stretching to reach a conflict-of-interest argument.

The third-party ownership claims are misleading. It doesn't seem that he's advising them on how to circumvent the rules in England, but actually saying that, despite it being banned in Europe, it is easy to do in other parts of the world. He says third-party ownership is possible elsewhere and gives the example of Ennar Valencia, who was third-party owned up until he was bought by West Ham. These are facts.

The digs at Neville & Hodgson and the criticism of redeveloping Wembley might deserve some kind of apology, but do they merit the sack?

And these:

  • Said England’s players were underperforming because they had a “psychological barrier” and “can’t cope”;
  • Suggested that players who were not being played for their club should not be picked for England;

are just desperate attempts to pad the allegations out. Pretty much every England manager has said these.

A worthwhile investigation by the Telegraph, but not sure they've got enough on Allardyce for him to be sacked. If he does lose his job, I'd say it's more to do with the FA using the opportunity to undo his original appointment.

The guy called Rashford "Rushford" in the video. That's worthy of instant dismissal right there. He doesn't know the names of his star players!!!!!!! Also, he previously said it wasn't his job to tell Rooney where to play. If I were involved in the FA, I'd take his chance now and pull the trigger.

I can't believe that managers are buying this excuse for underperformance.

Oh dear.

Sam Allardyce declared HMRC the “most corrupt business” in Britain during the Daily Telegraph‘s investigation into alleged corruption in football.

Give Redknapp (Harry, that is) a go. He's got a bit of baggage but everybody else just makes a right mess of it and I think he'd just get the feelgood factor going. The players need to be unleashed and just smiling will be a start. He's not for the long term but he'd give the FA time to identify a proper long term target like Eddie Howe. Bournemouth have a shelf life in this league and he will grow tired of a yearly struggle to keep them up and maybe one more season of staving off relegation will be enough for him. Redknapp followed by Howe in a season or two could be a good fit.

Your obviously joking right? Replace one corrupt manager with another, No chance.

I wouldnt exactly call Rashford one of his star players (at least not right now, he is not even a starter yet). Also, it was obviously just a slip of the tongue rather than him not knowing the kids name (giving benefit of the doubt here).

Harry never got caught at least. They say you're only corrupt if you're found out.

This meeting at the FA has been going on too long to result in a simple mea culpa press statement. I'm guessing they are discussing the severance terms.

It's more like Schrödinger's C(he)at. Every manager is 100% corrupt and 100% not corrupt until they are filmed by an undercover reporter disguised as a far east businessman.

Hang on...I thought the 'pint of wine' was merely a statement of the quantity of wine he consumed during the meeting, but he actually drank a pint glass full of wine, in front of a bunch of potential business partners he was meeting for the first time!

:lol: :lol: :lol:
:lol:
This gets better and better
