sofascore has him as Rosenborg's 3rd best player behind a 30 year old midfielder and a 19 year old winger - Broholm
Not familliar with the website, but looking at Utd's page it has the same 5 players as our best players in the premier league as whoscored, just in a different order
Rosenborg themselves are 4th, so a good team in their league but not dominating every team and they came 9th last season. Bodoe/Glimt who we just played won that league and are top again this season
Nypan isnt in sofascore's Eliteserien team of the season, a bit short of that mark but the players in the midfield spots are 2x 30 year olds and a 27 year old. He is however in the team of the week alongside 2 of the others from team of the season
They have a season heatmap for Nypan
We can see he likes to linkup down the left
Picking some stats from his page, he's been in the team of the week 3 times
8 goals scored, 7 assists
He averages 2 shots per game and has 8 big chances missed this season. So potentially double his goals if he was a a top finisher. He has 1 goal from outside the box, 6 with his right foot, 1 with his left and 1 with his head. All but 1 goal are from open play, he scored 1 penalty
1.4 key passes. Not a huge amount of key passes there, we have plenty of players averaging more than that but its the same as Mount and Rashford and behind 6 of our players. He has 7 big chances created, I'll assume these are times he set up a big chance and a teammate missed it.
1.4 successful dribbles per game with 57% success rate, so more often than not he's able to get past his player
1.9 tackles and 0.5 tackles per game would have him winning the ball more than Eriksen for us. We have very combative midfielders playing so its short of the likes of Ugarte, Casemiro, and Mainoo. Mount makes more tackles but 0 interceptions so far so probably about the same
2 yellow cards

Understandably given he's 17 he isnt among the top players in the league yet. Statistically he comes in at 18th with the top players around 30, in their late 20s, Hauge is 25 and 8th. Evjen is 24 and 11th, hes the left footer who took his goal nicely against us for Bodoe. Then theres Nypan's teammate 19 year old Broholm at 14th, ex-United Daehli 29 years old and 15th. Orjasaeter is 21 and 17th just in front of Nypan.
All that being said he could probably stay in Norway another year and try to compete with the best players or he could move to a better team and league and improve more there
I think if we do sign him in Jan I think we'd mostly see him rotated in for cup games and against the teams in the bottom 3 or 4 positions and then he'd get more chances as time goes on. If he does well by the end of the season I expect he'd at least be a regular sub coming on and then getting him ready to try and keep a place in the team next season competing against our number 10s for the 2 spots.
I think chances are good we'll sign a #10 who has already shown their quality in a good league in the summer so he'd have competition from Bruno, Mount, Amad, new signing 10 and we'll see what happens with Garnacho and Rashford and whether the manager still tries to play them in that position. I think he's likely be viewed more as a backup and rotation for our 2x 10s next season off the bench and occasional games. But after a year or two he might be able to hold the spot a starting spot himself
