Just like we didn't need an €37 million, 18 year old Diallo, "right now", back in 2020.A sensible move by the club. £11 million for an 18 year old in the Norwegian league is not what we need right now!

Does he? People seem to be a bit unsureHe has elite potential though. You aren't competing for trophies for the next 3 or 4 years so why not.

That's clearly the direction the club is heading, many reports mentioning this and the capture of that 17yr old LB and Koné shows our intention. We don’t have the money to buy 11 ready made class players to challenge at the top we should be going for the top young players around Europe and growing as a team in Amorims system
Gone are the days we’re spending 70m quid in the likes of Casemiro we should rightly be signing top young talent

From what I've heard about him he's not at the Odegaard or Haaland level.

We do have talents in the underage groups, but what if none make it, which is a realistic scenario? There is no harm in buying Nypan and loaning him out for the next 18 months, that's if he doesn't contribute next season. We literally have Mainoo, Ugarte and Collyer who have the energy to meet the demands of our new system. That's clearly the direction the club is heading, many reports mentioning this and the capture of that 17yr old LB and Koné shows our intention.
Gone are the days of missing out on Caicedos and the likes (I hope so anyway).
Am ok with us missing out on Nyppan, we have enough young talents in the underage groups. We shouldn't be blocking their path to the first team.
Not a done deal but our name hasn't been linked with him recently. Any links to Mastantuono, Rigg and Lorran? The only links I saw for Mastantuono and Rigg for a long time ago and I'm sure Rigg signed a new deal last summer. Is Nypan to Arsenal a done deal? Other talents for the AM role include Mastantuono and Lorran who the club are also scouting? Another young CM we have been linked to is Chris Rigg of Sunderland. If the club are not going for Nypan, it means they may be prioritising the other two.

We're in 13th position in the league so him not coming into the team straight away as a key player is not a valid reason not to sign him if he has high potential. Also, Bergvall, who has a similar reputation give or take, has come into the Spurs team and some say has been their best player so it's not inconceivable that Nypan could actually make an impact. Also, unfair to put Pellistri in with these guys. Nobody was talking him up except for Diego Forlan. Nypan is far closer to Amad in reputation than Pellistri.Same as we didn't need to sign Facundo Pellistri when we did either.
A lot of people seemed to have missed the point here. He's a teenager in the Norwegian league. He's likely to need years before he's ready to play for Man United and he will most likely never get to that level.
He's got less experience than the likes of Yoro, Hojlund and Zirkzee and they are all still very raw at this level.
If you want to fill the team full of project players then we are going to be wallowing in mid table for many years.
A far far better strategy would be to sign around 3 players in the summer in the £40/50 million bracket that are actually ready to go in to the team now.
It baffles me that people think we should essentially adopt the same sort of strategy as Brighton or Brentford without realising that the reason this strategy works for them is because they are happy to be a mid table team so they can afford to test these sort of players more than we can.
