Surveillance Draft

That's the thing with this draft. One stolen pick and all plans go out the window. Can only really plan as far ands your next pick.

Precisely, I'm actually waiting for the 2 of em above me to make their picks, before doing some research :lol:.

Steal, in my opinion.
I was surprised he didn't get picked earlier. Ireland? Meh, and given most United players he blocks also block each other you are onto a winner getting the best standalone pick.

@Joga Bonito

Another Maldini teammate I forgot about until this draft although I was convinced @Aldo would pick him ;)

:lol: Aye, that's bound to have been painful for Aldo. That Milan stint with his whopping 16 appearances is a real pain in the arse but he's just too good to pass up on. On the plus side, he didn't play at all during his first two seasons at Milan so that opens up a few options.

Don't think that matters mate does it? OP says any time shared together at a club, although it doesn't say anything about actual appearances made

I don't see how it's possible for any of the teams to not have at least a couple of sheep in the set up

note however, if they were on loan for an entire season the club that they were loaned to will count as their club for that season. The only exception is if they were owned by the same club but one player did not play any senior games during that season (probably due to injury).

I think Redondo in this case still qualifies as Milan player in those two seasons, regardless of whether he played or not. Or at least that's my reading of the rules

I think it's quite simple to get through without any sheep really. It's just about making wise decisions.

I took the bolded part as my green light to pick a player from Redondo's first 2 seasons at Milan when he didn't make any appearances at all. I don't even know who that would open up for me, but I think it would be prudent to try to keep my options as open as possible :D

'Played together at club level' will be defined as sharing at least one season with another player at the same club; if they did not move prior to the start of the league season e.g 15/16, they will have shared the season 14/15 as well as 15/16. They do not need to have been on the same pitch at the same time. Basically any time shared at the same club during the league campaign counts as played together; note however, if they were on loan for an entire season the club that they were loaned to will count as their club for that season. The only exception is if they were owned by the same club but one player did not play any senior games during that season (probably due to injury).

@Physiocrat what's the verdict?

Yeah that's exactly what the rule is isn't it? I don't know what else it could possibly mean otherwise

I'm going to sleep @Downcast has my pick but I think he's offline so I'll send it Skizzo aswell

Aye I thought it was fairly clear-cut but @Enigma_87 read it differently and I don't know what others think.
I thought Physio made it easier to check with players having to only being registered not played with each other on the pitch. Basically with this quote:

'Played together at club level' will be defined as sharing at least one season with another player at the same club;
They do not need to have been on the same pitch at the same time. Basically any time shared at the same club during the league campaign counts as played together;

But then again I might be wrong ;)

Just had a look at the player I was going to pick and had to cancel it. I'll have to have a think about it so might be a while if it gets to me soon. Sorry in advance for the hold up.

@Physiocrat what's the verdict?
As a neutral, I think in the context of this draft, Redondo should not be considered as Milan player in 2000-01 and 2001-02

@Physiocrat what's the verdict?

Teammates from Redondo's first two seasons at Milan are available to play alongside him since Redondo played no games at all in those two seasons.

Russians spoiled it a bit by knocking out what was the best team in the tournament in Netherlands. A Spain-Netherlands SF would have been awesome but the idiots choked too early.
Total annihilation :drool:
The last time I really enjoyed Russia's NT game. It wasn't a case of Netherlands losing the game though, we won it and we won it in style.

I just need to clarify something with Physio before making my pick.

Physio shut me down so I'll keep this moving and just pick Viera.

Cheers lads. It probably won't arise anyway, but its good to have clarified it in advance.

Looks familiar...

:lol: Aye, if only I could get Pele and van Basten too I'd be flying here.

Ballsy playing these two together after hating each other so badly

They both drove each other to be better than they were. In the same team that drive and passion would be scary. Each not wanting to let the other down.

Would it? Not implying that pair is at any means short of brilliant, but the assumption they won't want to let each other down because they were such fierce rivals has no merit to it. They are just as likely to hate it and request a transfer. Anyway, great duo for midfield but I won't try to convince voters with the "not letting each other down" business
