If there wasn't any truth in it I imagine one of either Sunderland or United would have come out by now and rubbished it.
I dont agree
We'd be down to 3 experienced defenders - Rio, Vidic, Evra
Evans; didnt have a great season last year. It remains to be seen whether thats the norm or his previous season is the real him
Smalling - still inexperienced
Twins - still inexperienced & injury prone
keep in mind we will potentially be bedding in a new 20 year old GK
further keep in mind that last season we ended up with Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher playing in defence
Its prudent to keep JOS around for another year to ensure there is experienced cover whilst we see if the young lads step up to the plate & Evans, Evra regain their form.
SadlySometimes I think SAF does what is best for the player, not necessarily the team. JOS has been a loyal servant but faces being marginalised for the remainder of his career with the emergence of the Da Silva's. We have adequate cover and it gives JOS a chance to be a regular first teamer at a good club to play out his career, much like Phil Neville.
I think we'll agree to disagree. FWIW, i think he would make the bench
He's hardly poor in most positions ffs. He and Evans played a massive amount of games for us when we went on that streak of not conceeding 2 years ago., (a club record).
I for one respect O'Shea, squad players are valuable members of the team. As our players keep saying it's a squad game and O'Shea plays an important role in that squad.
I am conscious of not being overly critical & indulging in unneccesary criticism, but he is and never has been good enough, the idea that squadplayers can be poor simply because they are squad players is daft
So one of the players who are leaving are staying? Hmm.Wow - SAF is really clearing out dead wood.
This would be quite a move. Quite a few players leaving Caftards:-
Owen (stays)
Deadwood? Much needed squad depth more like.
"It wouldn’t faze me one bit to leave, all I want is what’s best for me."
“Steve Bruce has played under Sir Alex Ferguson as well and I think he bases his managerial style on him."
What a dreadful thing to say, Gibbo! feck off with ya.

this seems to be the common viewHappy for Gibson and Brown to leave and I hope they do well.
Would prefer to keep O'Shea in the squad for another year at least.
Apart from OShea they are deadwood.
I can not understand peoples attachment to sheasy. If it is purely what he has contributed to the cub fair enough but brown has the same gravitus.
Sheasy is not good enough, nor has he ever been good enough, his distribution is rubbish has alwas ben rubbish, why is it a great shame he will leave the club? Is it his ability ? I hope not! Is it versitility- he's poor in most positions!
All I am saying is I don't get it!
what's wrong with that?
What?
Wait?
what?!
Nothing wrong with that...
Am I missing something here?
It's a bit of an ambiguous sentence, thus making it a joke, if read in the right context. Read it again you humourless people![]()
Good luck to Gibbo. Hes shown flashes of his passing ability like against Schalke. Then he goes and gets bossed by Crawleys midfield at OT. Regular games will do him nothing but good.
