Summer Transfers

Sneijder - Been utter turd this season and has acted like a twat at times too apparently. Thank feck some of our supporters didn't get their way last summer.

Hehe imagine him sitting on a 250k p/w contract for the next 4-5 years and playing like he does now.

On top of that I think he is too old by now. We should have got him when Real let him go for 15 mio. € and we had the CR money lying around.

I refuse to believe Fabio is going out in any form

I still think we should get Wesley Sneijder and get him to play like Scholes, sitting deep and spraying passes.

He doesnt even want to play as a normal CM that goes forward during attacks and you want him to play as a deep lying playmaker. He's stated on quite a few occasions that he doesnt see himself as a CM and he wants to play just off the striker. that slot in our team, thankfully, is taken.

Sneijder isnt worth his fee or his wages at the moment, on top of that, he isnt even what we need. We need a proper CM, not an AM imo. Sneijder's not been in great form from what i gather too.

If he goes to another Prem team I could accept it, that is the idea that the Independent have. He might even take a few points off of other top 6 squads for us.

Some kids from Brazil/Portugal that we've never heard of will be coming out way then.

Caught offside say were going in for Ozil again. Now I know it's caught offside but the chance of us getting that thread going again....

I still think we should get Wesley Sneijder and get him to play like Scholes, sitting deep and spraying passes. If we can get either Muniain or Martinez from AC I'll be happy, can't see us getting both, though that would be great.

Clyne to cover Fabio's loan next season and compete with Evra
Butland to backup De Gea and Lindegaard with PIG and maybe Amos leaving

1 more expensive player, hopefully a central midfielder who will do the job fantastically but probably wont be the name on people's lips. I think its quite like us to sign a player for what might seem a lot of money (up to about £22 million or so?) and for him to have a lot to prove in his first couple of seasons.

These are my expectations as its best to be realistic about what kinds of patterns and trends we have. I know, we have an old guard we still rely on but for years and years we've always said that and thats been our reason for hoping that we'd push the boat out a bit more. But it never really seems to happen.

We know that at least two have to leave - otherwise we'll have 27 over-21 players next season. Then, for any over-21 that comes in, another has to leave. I'm assuming that Kuszczak is gone, so that takes care of one of the two.

Clyne is a right back so signing him as cover for left back probably isn't the greatest idea. We have 3 young players competing for right back anyway so I'm surprised we're linked. A central midfielder is absolutely essential but I think the next priority has to be a young left back that is comfortable playing there in the long term. With Evra's age, inconsistent form and Fabio's likely exit on loan, we really need long term cover. Zeki Fryers has been really poor for the reserves of late so I can't see us relying on him either.

Kuzszack is certain to go, Berbatov looks very likely and Owen and arguable Anderson could move on too.

If we have the exact same squad next season we'll have 24 registered players in the squad, including all three goal keepers. Macheda and Jones would still get a freebie. So we're good in regards to that. It's not something stopping SAF in the market.

With Amos and De Gea both becoming over-21s, it means that we would be carrying three keepers in the registered squad if Amos stays. That's not the end of the world, but it's also not desirable.

Yeah I read this and I'm just going along with Clyne and Butland being the English players we've been linked to recently. Butland looks a really good young talent and wouldnt need to be registered. But it would only really make sense to take him if Amos wasnt here next season.

Clyne has played at left back. I've only seen him at right back myself but with Fabio going out on loan I'm sure if we do sign him as it seems likely we will, he'll see some time out on the left where we have fewer options.

Getting Titus Bramble and get him to play like Scholes would be much cheaper.

Butland could be number one at Birmingham next season if he stays there, I'm not sure how he's going to feel about being number three at United, especially with a 21-year old being number one and likely to remain one for decades.

De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos, Kuszczak
Rafael, Smalling, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Fabio, De Laet
Nani, Valencia, Young, Giggs, Bebe
Carrick, Anderson, Cleverley, Scholes, Fletcher
Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck, Berbatov, Owen

If you assume that Kuszczak, De Laet and Bebe will either be sold , released or on loan, then you are correct. Until that happens we have 27.

Amos's contract expires in june this year, so it's a chance that he might leave.

Gone in the summer, I reckon.

Pluss Park, who you left out.

I don't count Kuszczak, Bebe and De Laet as they aren't registered now. Kuszczal is registered with Watford and his contract is up in the summer so he won't be here. De Laet was on loan at Norwich and has only been with the reserves since December. The loan wasn't successful so I don't see him getting a squad space at all unless we have a spare one.
Bebe might fill a space but he'll probably be loaned.

Fabio is said to be loaned as well.

I don't think that we need to concern ourselves with squad spaces in all these transfer speculations.

Bold black = leaving
Bold Blue = loan
Bold Green = they may end up leaving

Leaving

GK: Amos, if he stays then he'll take one of the 25 player spot. Considering our quality in the GK department I wont be surprised if he leaves.

DF: Fabio will go on loan. I reckon we're signing a young versatile full back who will not cost us a fortune in terms of salary/fee. Clyne is my main target

Wings: I can see Park leaving. He offers little apart from sheer workrate and stamina and that's the first thing to go when you grow old. I wont be surprised if we replace him with a winger who can play as AMC. They are plenty of these people around Hazard and Gaitan to name a few

CM: Scholes has yet to sign a new contract (which he probably will) but things are uncertain for Ando. Considering the question marks surrounding Giggs, Scholes and Fletch I wont be surprised if SAF decides to cut the losses on a player who had produced so little throughout the year in a bid to bring in new staff capable of providing the quality we need if Scholes/Giggs grow too old to do to that or Fletch hasnt yet recovered. In my opinion we need a quality DMC and AMC. However I think we'll take one CM

ATT: Berba and Owen will leave. We will only bring in another striker if we insist on the 4-4-2 system. Rooney/Welbeck/Chicarito are good enough for a lone striker system.

Amos's contract expires in june this year, so it's a chance that he might leave.

With his age, dont we have to register him anyways in order to play him next season? Definite goner if so.

Of that squad, I would expect Kuszczak, De Laet and Berbatov to be sold this summer, with Fabio leaving on loan. Possibly Owen leaving too.

If that was the case, I reckon we'd need a left back, a centre mid and possibly a striker, though this wouldn't be urgent at all.

I don't like the talk of getting in a left back as back up for Evra - we need to bring someone in to compete for Evra's place. His form has improved in the second half of the season but I'm not sure how reliable he is going forward - there's a serious lack of consistency in his play these days.

Central midfield is the obvious one but what is important is the type of midfielder we should be looking at.

Since his return from injury, Cleverley has been playing way further forward, though granted this has generally been in games where he's come on as sub while we've been a few in front. Carrick has also started pushing further forward at times with Scholes sitting back.

I reckon we should be looking at either a box to box midfielder or else a defensive player who is good on the ball. Who that is, I don't know.

If Pogba and Scholes stay, and if Fletcher can come back at all, then I reckon central midfield could well be covered next season with Scholes, Carrick, Giggs, Anderson, Pogba, Cleverley and Fletcher. That's seven potentially top midfielders right there - do we need another?

The only way darren fletcher will leave if he retires due to his illness. I don't think that will be the case. So fletcher will not be going anywhere.

One of my favourite players, park, looks like he will leave. He hasn't really featured in the last few months, though he's been on the bench. If reports are to be believed about saf wanting more pace in the team, then park will leave. I know people will talk about some of pur other players, like scholes who doesn't have blistering pace, but his game play is fast paced, quick direct passes etc. where as parks is about running with the ball.

We really have to sign a top centre midfielder. Just goes to show since scholes has come back we have kicked on. I think also ando will leave, which would be disappointing for him more than anyone else as he never really got to show us what he can do due to his injuries!

Loan
Amos, Fabio, Fletcher,

Leaving
Kuszczak, De Laet, Bebe, Berbatov, Owen

Staying
De Gea, Lindegaard,
Rafael, Smalling, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Jones
Nani, Valencia, Young, Giggs, Carrick, Anderson, Park, Cleverley, Scholes,
Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck

Leaving 5 spots. I think when Fletcher does come back he will go out on loan to get fitness back. Chances are we will have room for him anyway

Fletcher won't go on loan. He will regain fitness in the reserves, after a long spell out with a disease like that we'll want to keep our eye on him while he's coming back, not send him out on loan to some Championship side.

I refuse to believe Fabio is going out in any form

SAF said that he's going on loan and honestly...it makes sense. With Evra growing old we would soon need someone to cover/compete with him for a first team place. Fabio cant do that by simply play football at reserves level. He will also have to prove that he's not a sick note.
