A year ago, going after the likes of Neymar, Bale, Muller, Pogba et al, seemed like a complete waste of time. Now, with Mourinho, everything suddenly seems realistic.

Seriously though, if this was any other branch of journalism the amount libel claims would be insane. What's to stop two clubs involved in fabricated transfer rumours of a player coming out and demanding to know where those stories came from? Like, I get that a lot is probably deliberately leaked by either clubs or agents, and that the more it appears to the public that the whole press is essentially playing a guessing game it does probably makes it easier in an odd way to conduct transfer, but still. Silly season indeed.

Whats that about 120k a week, surely we could offer him a lot more than that. Whether this is true or not I dont personally see him joining us anyway but that is still quite low considering what some players earn.
Also 40m Euros for 5 year comes out to be around 125K pound per week. It has to be after tax if there is any semblance of truth.

This I dont get, Bale is not Ronaldo quality and should be happy enough earning a shit load of money playing for a great club (although that pains me to say) and winning CLs every other year. Ronaldo wont go on forever either and Bale is 4 1/2 years younger. I reckon there is no chance he will be signed by United and this is just the usual crap to get him an even more lucrative renewal offer.
I imagine that both Bale and Neymar imagined they would get a predominant role, but after three years they still have a secondary role , so eventually there must be problems , considering that most elite players are very competitive. The renewal offer is very good , I doubt that Madrid or any other team can raise it much more
