This is true but we are talking about Messi and Ronaldo here with ridiculously consistent scoring records and star player quality and in Ronaldo' case the Hollywood teeth, 12 pack and clothing brand, he is never going to play second fiddle to anyone whilst still reasonably young and fit.

Hard luck Bale you could have joined us few years back and had to compete with Rooney and Carrick instead.
 
Have we been linked with Sneijder this Summer yet? It would be a shame to break that streak.

Ghezzal now that's surprising. Interesting player who only has one year left at Lyon with contract extension talks stalling but I would rather expect a move to a smaller club.

Being a football fan in the summer is probably the worst thing to be in fairness. It's worse than reading something like Hello magazine, the same amount of substance. "How to tuck your tummy", "Manchester United linked with the 132049th player and are preparing a world record bid, still preparing a bid from Vidal (3 seasons ago)."
