He mentions Utd interest there but says there's been no contact between utd and Juve or Pogba. Real have made contact with Raiola though

I wonder if they'd be interested in signing a certain Belgian for £20m if offered.

Dont think Liverpool will sell Benteke that cheap.

He'll go to Real. Just don't even bother getting your hopes up on this one.

He's made 63 league appearances in two seasons.

There are a lot of substitute appearances in there, he was always 3rd choice for the front 2 with Tevez and Llorente but forced his way in, in the second half of the season where he was great for Juve in the CL. Then last season he was again 3rd choice as Manduzikc was a better lamppost for Dybala to play around, and I think due to the buyback clause Juve always used him with the view that he wouldn't be there long term which can affect any players confidence, yet he did step up for them against Bayern when Dyabla was injured. He's been in a sort of limbo for 2 years due to the fact Real always seemed likely to activate the buyback even if it was just to sell him on.

Ok, let me get this right. If a player is linked to United he is class but as soon as City are in for him , he is crap? Ed, put these poor muppets out of their misery!

Someone is making stories up. Cant see us going for Ibra, Morata and Embolo. One of them is too much

Stones is an idiot if he leaves just after Koeman arrives. He has plenty of time to join a big club (proper big club, not City) and I'm sure if finances are an issue, Evertons new owners would only be happy to give his contract a boost.

There is no better manager for him to train under for a couple of years. Learn from one of the best exponents of his style of defending ever, and then as he really begins to meet his potential, he can move to a giant like Barca, Real, Bayern or United.

Watford rejecting a 20m bid from Leicester for Deeney :wenger: Shows the money in the league when leicester can bid that much for an average player like Deeney, and Watford can flat out reject it even though he's not worth close to that. Yet we see someone like Pjanic go to Juventus for ~24m (plus incentives of course, but still).
If we can get Reaper and Genji signed up, we're good to go!

I think you need Lucio as well

Yup, that makes sense.

Embolo is more for the right wing I think with the occasional filling in up top like Martial on the left. Though I agree, we don't need both Ibra and Morata. Don't think Morata is good enough anyway, and he'll cost a ton while only being really squad player level.

Fantastic work from the tweeters on here. This thread is chugging along much more smoothly than in previous years. A work of art.

The thing is the RW doesn't just need to be a goal scorer really. He needs to be a creator as well. We had so many problems in the last few seasons with the final ball or the penultimate ball. Contributions from the right wing were almost non-existent. Guys like Embolo, Martial with their directness are a straightforward solution to that. Also that said, Embolo is both. He's very raw though and highly inconsistent at the moment, so if this transfer happens, it's definitely a risky one. He's often gone missing in EL games this season but been very explosive in moments as well. He's also a very Mourinho like player for the Right wing. He's fast, powerful, does his defensive duties diligently. Just like Renato Sanches, he's got bags of potential. Just have to wait and see how he develops. I'm not expecting Ballon D'or levels or anything, but he will be really brilliant if he full-fills that potential.

If Ibra comes, I think he's going to score goals when he is surrounded by so much pace. It was a system that worked to marvellous effect at PSG last season. He may not score that many goals, but there won't be a worry that he will struggle imo.
Good post. Got the juices flowing. Roll on, next season.

It would be masochistic for him to extend for a club who doesn't respect his will to leave even for an inflated fee.

With all due respect to Koeman there's no comparison with training under Guardiola.
