So, I am watching this Premier League buildup show on Norwegian TV and it is ripe with tweets about Lewandowski spotted in London, with pictures and everything.

Surely he is just there for a curry? Bayern wouldn't sell him and Arsenal couldn't afford him.

I am watching also, on TV2 right? I have not seen any tweets about Lewa on tv?

About 15-20 minutes ago there were three tweets, two with pictures of him around London, and one of him boarding a plane to go back to Germany. Perhaps TV2PL has retweeted them.

Boro doing some serious business. They've bagged some big names over the years. Makes you wonder where they'd be now if it wasn't for those wilderness years in the Championship.

Might have a little flutter on them. Think they're going to surprise a few people this year.

Mundo Deportivo are reporting Barcelona are in advanced negotiations for Paco Alcacer. Why are Valencia selling all of their best player?

Forgot that one. No idea what's happening at Valencia :(

That is a fall from grace. Remember when him and Axel Witsel were the next big things. Witsel had a good carreer so far. Defour was affected by his injury it seems. Will be interesting to see him in the PL.
Remember Fergie sending him a letter encouraging him to push on after one of the injuries.

Odd headline for this:

He said: “Joe is a player I’m so happy about [with] his qualities, his behaviour, and what he means to this club. After we are going to decide inside the doors. Now, he is a player of us. Today is not about Joe. Today is the day before the start of the Premier League.”

Nothing to do with an injury. Bad decisions and somewhat of a difficult character. He starred in a Belgian tv show about rich people... Cringeworthy television. If you put his brains in a bird it would fly backwards it seems.

Aye thought that too. Pep's English is slightly awkward but he seems to me to be coming closer to saying his staying than he does that he's leaving.

 not heard of that expression before!

He was actually very non committal, saying a decision will be taken indoors doesn't seem like hes entirely convinced.

Thats true but I don't think it's worth reading too much into the comments because they're so awkwardly expressed.

Maybe they'll sell him maybe they won't but I'm not sure you can really tell what point he's trying to make.

Nice to know! I thought it was his broken foot in 2009 that was career-defining, but guess he might have had his limitations either way then :P

I don't see them going well at all.

Agree. I think Valdes is fecked physically. Guzan is rubbish. Barragan is unknown. Fabio has stagnated massively in the last few years (any moment now someone will reply that he played in a CL final) and beyond that they've not done much in the way of decent business. Ramirez has already failed once at PL level. Rhodes is a question mark. Fischer is unproven at this sort of level. Ditto De Roon.

Tbh, if they can't add a bit more quality I think they could be in bother. Karanka to be gone by Xmas would be a good bet IMO.

Rack up international caps? If he didn't want to represent Wales then he could have declined like Shawcross has done, do you hate Podolski because he's Polish and not German?

I don't want a debate in what criteria a player needs to meet before he gets to play for certain teams, but to hate someone for choosing to play for an international team and then showing great passion after doing so seems weird to me.

I did say "can't stand" rather than hate. It is only football after all, not war!
Podolski isn't the right comparison, as he chose to play for the better team, and his history is a lot more complex than Williams, who crept in through the classic "grandparent" tenuous link.
Shawcross thought he had a chance of a competitive England cap, having been in the Premier league and on the outskirts for years. Williams never looked to be close when he made his choice. It's unlikely he'd have selected Wales over England if there was really an option.

Famous last words?? :) Who knows what this season's going to bring. If last season has shown people one thing...you just never know anymore.

Very strange, more so because of Paco's stature in youth football in Spain and that he's a local kid - to leave after more than a decade at the club and being the Captain? Sinking ship

BTW, that Pep soliloquy on Hart is the final chapter of his career at City. Mats would tick all the boxes but I feel would be a big loss for Barcelona

I think last year means that this year will go almost exactly to plan and one of the usual suspects will win the league, whilst Leicester will be lucky not to get relegated.
