Then wouldn't they have quoted an even higher price? If they really want closer to his release clause that is.
Giroud isnt that bad.. he could realistically got for over 30m euros.. Well.. not if Arsenal are looking to sell.. that always drives the price down.. but 50+Giroud and selling to a club outisde Italy isnt probably pretty close to ~90m for selling to a potential rival (not really, but Napoli wont give up in pre season)

pretty sad if he doesn't think he's capable of taking girouds starting spot

Anyone can see Arsenal don't play to his strengths. Giroud is a target man who holds the ball up. Vardy is the complete opposite.

He'd have been played on the left wing, teams would defend deep against Arsenal like they always do and when he hasn't scored a load by Christmas he'd be benched.

Fair play to him for sticking by Leicester. A big pay packet, regular football and CL.

Giroud is almost 30, so I think 20/25m euros is probably closer to what his market value would be, but yeah that's say 75m euros. But my point was, if Napoli were trying to get Juve to get involved, they'd surely say another club is close to signing him for "insert fee they want". Similar to how Madrid are putting James on their front page of their mouthpiece newspapers, saying many clubs are interested and Mourinho wants him at United for 80m euros (when in reality, if PSG don't get involved, they'd be lucky to get 65m euros.)

"I’m sure that he will not go to Juventus. I know that the English club is trying to raise money by selling Koscielny for €50m."

Why on earth would Arsenal sell Koscielny? Besides, if David Luiz is worth £50m, then Laurent Koscielny is surely worth more than €50m.

Bayern have to have the greatest depth in a team that I've ever seen. Other than strikers they have incredible depth. They already get all the German talent and they manage to add quality every season

Losing out to Bayern is fair enough. If we allow fecking Everton to land Koulibaly I'll rage.

Should be our #1 CB target.

Why would Bayern even be after him, though? They've just bought Hummels and have Boateng. Likewise, why would Koulibaly go there and not be an automatic starter when he can come here and be guarneteed a place?

A weird one. Surprising Mourinho doesn't want Matic, if he's actually for sale. Could be a case of Chelsea not wanting to strengthen a rival too. If Juve do sign Matic, then that would be the clearest signal yet of Pogba leaving -- not because they're similar players (Matic plays deeper), but because Matic will cost an absolute fortune and that money will have to be raised somehow.

If we ended up buying James, Rooney would surely be off. Finding it hard to see where Rooney fits in without buying someone like James.

Something tells me Rooney "won't be off". No one will take his wages that would actually use him. He wouldn't go to China and he won't make near the money in the MLS as he makes in England. We're gonna be stuck with him. Best case scenario is he turns into a Tevez and just disappears for the season.

Part of me thinks its to get Juve to pay up.
They are not napoli's official radio station. It was explained on sporting witness. Higuain wants juve according to di marzio and they have a good chance of getting him.

We are not buying james. It is typical strategy of madrid of trying to create auctions for players they do not want to get more money out of clubs. They bought jamez for 80 million and are selling him cause he aint good enough, do you think they will get close to that? No, hence the advertisement in their personal paper to sell him so they can fund a new galactico. Its strategy to create auction which i am sure is fuelled by putting manutd's name as we seem to have the most money in the market.
I would not take jamez above 30 million pounds. He simply hasnt shown anything more. I do not think Mourinho will have any interest in him.Maybe if isco was available he would try, but not for Jamez.

Edit: balls, didn't realise what thread I was in. Have spoilered the tweet. Didn't mean to send everyone a notification about it.

Just read it too, earlier they said it wasnt. Its all very confusing.

Not sure about a loan would prefer to sell.

Yeah not sure the point on agreeing a loan move this early in the transfer window. If we couldn't sell by the last week in August then maybe. Besides we know they have just received €20- €30m.

Not sure about a loan would prefer to sell.

He'll be on daft bloody wages which no one will want to pay him because quite frankly he's very average/bordering liability occasionally so he's not worth it in their eyes and also can't afford him.

I think we need to stop benchmarking against absurd deals to justify pricing for any player. Examples of Luiz, Carroll etc are outliers.

Anyways to your point,
1. Luiz isn't worthe 50m
2. Luiz was sold at a much younger age (Koscielny is 30+)
3. Luiz is more marketable

Ofcourse Koscielny is the better defender but next to Thiago Silva, Luiz has done well. I think they would do well to get 50m for him. All this is hypothetical anyways as I dont think they will sell him and even if they do, getting 50m from ( I assume) a non EPL club will be difficult
