Summer Transfer Tweets 2016

Selling Depay and Blind would be so dumb. Squad is small enough as it is and we need 4-5 starting caliber players this summer. Selling off squad players would either a) leave us short on numbers and balance again or b) mean we'd need to sign 6-7 players this summer. Just ship off the obvious garbage like Fellaini and Rojo and sign 4 quality players. Then keep shaping the squad in coming windows. Doesn't all need to happen overnight.

When papers report, "Jose wants this player in" OR "Jose wants this player out", how do the papers get these stories?
When Jose is discussing transfers with Woodward, does he record the conversation and then send it to the news papers?
I mean surely most of these stories are made up?
How does anybody know if Jose wants to sell Memphis (unless he gets transfer listed)?

Leaks/sources from within the club and outside the club. Half of them are made up crap but part of the stories do end up being true.

No one is even after him. They should have just waited till December to see how he gets along and then signed him.

Was gutted when we didn't sign him last season.

He's a risk given the injury history, potentially world class. But recurrent injuries do take their toll.
I know the league he has come from is pretty tough, but this league you have to be on form every single game. As you say it could take it's toll. There are very few easy games.

In Spain you have to do it because it's the law.

Ah wasn't aware they had to do so. Still I hope we can in the future because we tend to buy big sell low (apart from Ronaldo). A lot of of clubs around different European leagues tend to buy cheap and sell high even if the player is not particularly great.

Hope City keep signing crocks.

Gundogan and next up: Laporte.

Hope it's true. We need proper back up for martial

So you think we should give up on Memphis after 1 year - despite him having the potential to be really, really good ? It's plain stupid to let Memphis go without giving him a proper chance - against Midt-Jylland he showed how good he can be. If he after one more season shows no signs of consistency, then we should consider it. But after 1 year with a manager who clearly didn't believe in him...no way

I really hope it's not true. yes, He was rubbish last season, but alot of our players where shit too. He deserves another shot next season. He wouldn't be the first player who was shit in the first year. I think he can become a very good player for us. The talent is there.

Performing against Midt-Jylland and Club Brugge mean nothing. Also don't say LVG didn't believe in him when he persisted with him at the start of the season despite him showing very little. His lack of effort in the Arsenal away match would have resulted in him getting dropped by any manager

It's not even a problem of consistency as he is consistently shit. Will be one hell of a turnaround for him to make it in the PL now

Laporte has started running. He should be due back by the time preseason starts.

Good signing and would have preferred him to Stones. City have spent around £120m now in the past 3 years on centre backs.

Its a gamble for City considering he's still injured and won't be fit for months and mainly because its 3 years since he played his best football. I'll be astounded if he can get back to his from of 2012-13 and the odds are well stacked against him. I doubt he will be the last midfielder they buy.

Good if they don't sign another CM. Gundogan is not reliable. They will end up starting the season with Yaya and Fernandiniho. Which is why they fail in so many big games.

But surprised if they going after Stones too. I know Mangala will be ditched, but will Otamendi too?

Eventually they will get it right.

Surely not, his injury was very similar to Valencia's. 5 months at the very least.

He won't be training properly until August at the earliest.

Laporte, Stones, Gundogan and Sane. Heck of a statement if they grab all of them, it'll make them the team to beat next season IF Gundogan gets fit. Also takes two of the very few top CB's off the market...

Stones is a million miles from a top centreback at the moment. Basically what they're doing is signing hype and ignoring fitness and current ability.

Where will Sane play? Doesnt Sterling play in the same position?
I was hoping we would be looking at Sane

City getting their business done early. The signed ones not playing in Euros helps.

Strangely enough, these potential City signings don't bother me at all.

It will increase to over £150m as they still apparently want Stones.

They could have just kept Boateng.

But they will still have Delph, Yaya, Fernando and Fernandinho. They need atleast 3 cms to play to the style Pep wants. The midfielder they signing has question marks about his fitness.

He posted a video on his twitter with him running with the ball. Don't want to link it to this thread as it has nothing to do with transfers.
