Summer Transfer Tweets 2016

In the mid-to-long term, Laporte bothers me. Putting a solid back line behind that offense? Not good.

Assuming it's true, of course.

He's a very talented player, but I'd rather wait and see how he'd do after recovering from his injury (and also how he'd adapt to the league) before starting to worry. Hopefully people would be more reasonable this time around compared to last summer's saga with Otamendi.

Strangely enough, these potential City signings don't bother me at all.

Pretty much agreed.

I think Laporte is massively overrated as well not to mention injured. Gundogan is good but he's a crock.

Even if he comes back quickly there's no way I'd want someone coming into Premier League intensity having suffered a broken leg and dislocated ankle 4 months prior. It took Valencia 7-8 months to recover fully and he's a fecking tank.

Gundogan is way worse though, just company for Kompany.

Laporte will probably be back just in time for the start of the season. The linked targets don't see amazing either - I'm not shy on ceding that I don't rate Stones at all. And of a potential GK; whilst Ter Stegen is allegedly a very exciting talent there is an awful lot of GIFs out there of him making blunders of fairly innocuous balls. Sane would worry me a little though.

Bilbao are the Spanish side I like, so I am a bit concerned that he has been rushed into this by his reps, who are likely trying to keep Pep happy. Yes he is going to be managed by a great manager, but as you say the pace of the PL could be a problem with a recent injury.

Even Sane will need time.

I was expecting Pep to sign players that will hit the ground running. But most of them will be on the ground it seems.

I still think they need another striker also as Bony is rubbish.

Yeah would agree with that. Sane does look a top talent but the rest are very meh.

Fenerbahçe's Van Persie and Lazio are more than close. The talks are going ahead since a month. All three parts keen to finalise the deal

If they pull it off then those signings got tons of potential. Could be frightening under Pep in a couple of years.

Problem is, in a couple of years he might have left as he does. Then it depends who they bring in to manage that side. Laporte has always hankered after playing for Barca, his reps played for Barca, you can just see in two to three years him wanting to go there.

Slow clap......

I'd have loved a fit Gundogan at United :(

His tag line should read "overrated" :wenger:. I'd be interested to see a thread started by Akash where he makes two line-ups. One with his best players and one with talents to see who he leaves out.

I rate plenty of players.

Ones I don't generally turn out to be duds... like Memphis who everyone was wanking over a year ago. People were suicidal when Pedro didn't sign either. Or when Otamendi signed for City.

Transfers by our rivals are very overrated on here. I'm guessing this will be even more of an issue this summer with the Pep and Klopp fanbois running rampant trying to have snide digs at Mourinho.

I'm sure you do, i just always see you dissing players

If I'm being honest I would love both Gundogan and Laporte here despite their current injuries. Both players when not injured are very good. However if we sign a top midfielder and CB then I won't be too bothered but if worst case scenario we start the season with Blind and Carrick I'd be pretty pissed about it! That will surely not happen though but whatever way you look at it they will make city better especially if it means they don't have to play Demichelis or Delph.

An overrated CB, a very good but horribly injury prone CM and another CB who can do everything but defend. Not a combination that worries me one bit.

Hah! We would be in muppet frenzy if we were close to signing the players mentioned. Strange comment to make.

Classic caf really. Hes going to city? Hes shite! Never wanted him anyway!!

Rubbish. All people seem to do on here is whinge about how shite our own (many of them very good) players are, while taking a paddy at how much we aren't like Bayern Munich or Manchester City.

@Akash is right actually. That list of players doesn't bother me. Infact, whatever City do doesn't bother me. As long as we make the right decisions in the market ourselves, we'll be more than fine. The club has been lambasted on many occasions for our inability to sign player X or player Y. In the majority of cases (see Cuadrado, Otamendi and Pedro) it's been much ado about nothing.

Really wish we'd get a move on with the first signing of the Mourinho era. Euro's kicks off soon which will be a big delay for any potential signings.

Where will Sane play? Doesnt Sterling play in the same position?
I was hoping we would be looking at Sane
I don't know, I guess either Sterling will be marginalised by Pep or it will be Sterling and Sane on the flanks with KDB central.

I too know nothing about Sane, but I hope we sign him.

There were Rumours about this a few weeks back.
Like the look of him

Signed contract til 2019 in December, although that won’t stop Ed if we really want him. Based on his thread he’s talented but his mentality is somewhat of a question mark?

Sounds brilliant at first sight but

Gündogan: Out until November and he is injury-prone (I really like him as a player but right now he's a massive gamble...not because of the price but because of their midfield situation....they need 2-3 new midfielders for Guardiola's football and it will be interesting to see how Gündogan will come back from that terrible injury).
Laporte: Out until November
Stones: I rate him but he needs to play next season to make now really the next step....can he do that if the other CB's are Kompany, Otamendi and Laporte (I guess Mangala will go).
Sane: Various german reports are saying that Bayern Munich want him next summer (to replace one of Robben/Ribery) and De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling & Iheanacho are already there = I really doubt he will join City
Ter Stegen/Sommer: Yes both are different goalkeepers as Hart but both are surely not better than him.

So at the moment i'm really not worried about City's transfers/targets.

City are making moves but all of a sudden they rubbish players cos we're not linked to them?

Not sure how him and Kane would work in the same side, unless Poch is thinking of moving to a 4-4-2 diamond.

Lacazette can play wide attacker. IMO, the idea will be go 433 with Kane, when available, central and Lacazette operating out wide and Lacazette playing central striker when Kane is out. Kinda like how PSG use Ibra and Cavani.
