Summer Transfer Tweets 2016

Ah wasn't aware they had to do so. Still I hope we can in the future because we tend to buy big sell low (apart from Ronaldo). A lot of of clubs around different European leagues tend to buy cheap and sell high even if the player is not particularly great.

Agreed. But with the exception of Ronaldo, how many players did we want to actually keep at United ? Most of the players that leave United are deemed surplus to requirements because they have had a bad season or two ( Kagawa, Forlan, Hernandez etc ) or have been found out to be not THAT good ( Cleverly, Zaha etc).

Two players we really wanted to hold on to were Ronaldo (High Fee) and De Gea ( Still here). The fans didn't want Beckham to leave but the club did and we got a decent fee for that era of transfers.

Also, a lot of middle clubs tend to transfer players of similar talent at a slightly higher price, but they do so for the potential, with the buying club in the hope of them turning out really good. The players we sell are devoid of that since they haven't succeeded at a higher level.

Admittedly, Madrid are pretty good at selling players.

Barca might consider signing Vietto (Atleti) as a fourth striking option. Also interesting: Dani Alves's agent is in Paris to negotiate with PSG. Seems like the Juventus move is breaking down...

If true, we should be all over Serge Aurier, as crazy as he might be.

Yeah, despite having their best season for fecking ages, they finished 4 points ahead of us. There's a massive gulf in between the 2 teams....

But they are currently ahead, right? In terms of quality I'd say they are too. Adding Lacazette would increase this. We might make some good signings too, but we need to be catching up and then some. Hopefully the Mourinho factor will make that difference.

Didn't he just sign a permanent deal with Roma a couple of days ago?

Yep, but apparently they want to make a profit on him this summer.

I remember Hellas Verona doing with with Iturbe a couple of years ago - signed him permanently from Porto and then immediately sold him to Roma for a profit.

Stones, whether he goes to United or not, would be a fool to go to City who already have about half-a-dozen expensive central-defenders.

City living in fear or what?
